We had a letter from Chiquito at school inviting us to go there for a free morning of making food and drink, so we took them up on the offer. They're really close to the railway station, which means that the trip costs can be cut right down by getting the train if you're not within walking distance.
The staff were friendly, cheerful and helpful, and able to accomodate dietary requirements. They could explain all about the food, drink and Mexican history and happily answered the children's questions. They made it fun, organised competitions with prizes and made the children want to visit again. There was a carousel of 3 activities - trying food and making wraps, trying juice and making drinks and designing Aztec hats. At the end the children got to eat their toasted wraps and drink their juice cocktails. It was all really well organised and ran really smoothly. We turned the visit into a whole 6 week topic on Mexico and the Aztecs, and this was a really motivating way to introduce the topic. Thanks Chiquito - see you again next year!
