Description: We offer authentic, quality Indian Cuisine in Blackburn, Lancashire. Established in 1992 we have an unrivaled reputation for both quality and customer care. Whether you're looking for a venue for your next special occasion or quality Indian food - you'll always find a fast, friendly service waiting for you.Set in the picturesque Ribble Valley the Shajan is an award-winning restaurant. It started off as a small business holding only 96 customers. However its popularity lead to its gradual expansion over the years and it is now able to accommodate up to 205 customers. The restaurant itself is split into 3 rooms enabling it to cater for private parties and large functions without losing its intimacy or atmosphere. Its modern decor, luxurious setting and spacious car park have attracted a wide range of customers including celebrities, some of which arrive in helicopters. The chefs' come from all over South Asia, so the restaurant is able to offer a varied cuisine, and the large number of regular South Asian customers is a testament to the foods authenticity. We believe the restaurant's reputation is our best accolade as it is built purely on word of mouth. The Shajan's emphasis on quality, customer service and above all its continual drive for improvement, have all lead to its success.

We had not been to Shajan's for a number of years, mainly because we now live on the other side of Britain! I must say that the food and service was as good, if not better, than I remember. As a party of four we had booked so had no problem getting a table. The restaurant was very busy but out food arrived promptly. We all have different dishes and we all tried a taste of each others. All of the dishes were superb! We will return next time we are in the area.

Since my last review of the Shajan we have eaten there a number of times.

The food is good, but there is something about the service that is lacking. The last couple of times I have felt on edge when eating there. In particular when a member of our party was indecisive while ordering the waiter taking the order was curt.
Some of the staff are lacking the bedside manner that makes eating out the all round pleasure it should be.

The last time we were in there I got the impression that we should be grateful that they were allowing us to frequent the establishment.

Too many other places to get good Indian food, we're done with the Shajan.

Visited on a typical busy Saturday evening, the bar was busy but we found a table and the waitress service was prompt and pleasant.
Despite the busy might we were shown to our table on time which was in a light and airy area of the large dining area.
The service was good, although one of our drinks was missing and was finally delivered on the third request.
The food was good, not exceptional, but everyone enjoyed their dish. The service was generally good and the prices reasonable.
We would go again but probably not the venue for a relaxing meal out!

Our first visit having read the mixed reviews on Tripadvisor.
Lots of parking spaces and lovely eternal water feature.
We were promptly taken to our pre-booked table and felt a little rushed in placing our order.
We have never been in such a large Indian restaurant with so many people eating and the noise level from people talking was very high. At times we had difficulty having a conversation.
If there was background music, we could not hear it.
The food was good and the staff were efficient and polite.
However, if you like a relaxed meal without feeling rushed and in a cosy atmosphere where you can chat over your meal, then the Shajan may not be for you

Only just finished being insulted by the customer service? Having ordered takeaway online my daughters boyfriend went to collect on returning couple of items not right chips missing and one of the naans stone cold and rubbery. Phoned to let them know no apology no it was our fault for not checking the order at the counter and our fault for them getting our order wrong. There attitude was disgusting Sharrif ? Was his name we would have gladly accepted a Sorry or we will send a £5 voucher through the post . My wife phoned back and was told my daughter was rude and aggressive whilst she was sat in our lounge with all our guests present so not only is there customer service a disgrace but they tell bare faced lies
In the last 12 months we have spent close to £2000 at this restaurant well no more I will take my custom elsewhere we will wait to see if this report is acted on if not the owner who is always asking my daughter who phoned to be his second wife ( jokingly) will be contacted. A simple sorry for our mistake would have satisfied for the moment I would stay well clear until they learn good manners and the simple basics of customer service Cost of takeaway over £40
