Description: At the Hart we believe in great food, great wine and great company. We aim to provide the best locally sourced food, combined with an exciting variety of drinks to match. We place ourselves at the centre of local village life and make sure everyone receives a warm welcome. In warm weather we have a lovely terraced area to the rear, including a beautifully cosy covered wooden seating area. With comfortable cushions and a scandinavian feel. Inside the pub we have a modern bar area, child and dog friendly, where you can relax and enjoy good conversation. When you're ready to eat you can move to our inviting restaurant, which includes an interesting 'Well table' - can you see to the bottom?

I had a buffet for 50 people. Everyone said that the food was excellent. The Hart reserved one room for the party and put gazebos and fairy lights up outside for me. The team went out of their way to help us and I had a wonderful evening.

Last night we booked a party of 19 people for an important private celebration. We were able to speak with and plan with the manager beforehand. The service was pleasant and excellent, and the food was hot and tasty, appreciated by everyone in our party. We would recommend.

Visited today for first time, and thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Excellent and attentive service was preceded by a very warm welcome. We'd asked for a quieter table as Mum & Dad are a little hard of hearing, and the level of background noise was such we were able to easily enjoy our conversation between courses. The dining area is down 2 steps, so a little tricky to manage for people with less mobility. Good sized & convenient car park to the rear.

We enjoyed a three course lunch & coffees, and were able to eat at our own pace. There was a good choice on the menu and the food was of a very high standard, tasty, fresh, & good portions. We were also very pleased that the smaller appetite amongst us was able to have the smaller 'children's' portion of the roast lunch.

Fine, if a little pretentious and overpriced. We would be likely to take guests for dinner or Sunday lunch rather than make a habit of it. Nevertheless, it has charm and gentility accompanied by a civilized ambiance. Certainly worth a visit. Very pleasant staff and architecture. Slightly out of the way but not remote location. There are three rather decent food pubs in this area. This is one and the other two are in Blewbury village.

We lunched at the Hart to check out Marcel Bala's style before booking him to cook for the 100 guests at our golden wedding at our house. Needless to say we booked him immediately!
The menu he suggested was excellent and he was flexible and entirely happy with any special requests we suggested. The end product was hugely appreciated and enjoyed in spite of everything the weather could do to dampen our party. Everyone from London and more locally said how good the food was and how expertly it had been prepared and presented. Highly recommended.
