Stayed here for a after Christmas chill.
Once again lovely warm welcome from front desk.
Room as always very nice.
Not quite sure what has gone on with the pillow situation but they were like the value ones you pay 1.99 for two for.
Never had this before at a Devere hotel !
Due to this I ended up having to fold towels to put under pillows to get some support, which resulted in very little sleep I'm afraid.
Did mention this to check out staff who assured me they would look into this.
Again we eat in the restaurant in the evening .. Been here twice now and although the food is very nice they seem to struggle to actually get what you order on your plate.
Breakfast queueing again for a good while, they really need to get a large breakfast room and keep the items stocked .. No glasses for juice and just general topping up needs to be kept on top of.
But again breakfast was enjoyable.
I wouldn't let these problems stop me from returning but it would be nice if they could get them sorted

We stayed here for 2 nights on a special deal which was very good. For the price we couldn't believe our luck. The rooms are modern and clean. The shower room was fine with a walk in shower and no bath. The rooms are dark which made it hard to see in the wardrobe and very little storage, but for a couple of nights it was fine. The swimming pool and gym were big for a hotel however there were a lot of children coming in for swimming lessons which made the pool and changing rooms feel crowded and noisy. We really liked the bar restaurant in the hotel which had a great atmosphere in the evening and good food. The staff were very helpful especially the lady on the front desk. We would go back again.

We stayed here for two nights over a weekend combining a visit to Bletchley Park with a visit to family. The hotel is on a 'business park' not far from the motorway, but the area is very quiet and there is ample parking. Hotel is modern and the lobby is pleasant with lots of seating areas. Check-in was quick and easy, reception staff very friendly and gave us info on breakfast and the leisure facilities as well as the two on-site restaurants. We stayed in an upper deck room, which was well equipped and clean. We found the bed really comfortable and we slept well. It would have been nice to have the option of having either a bath or shower, but the powerful and modern shower was more than sufficient for two nights. Although our room was located at the end of the corridor anyway, we were not disturbed by noise from other guests.
We thought the breakfasts were very good - lots to chose from and even though there were quite a lot of guests, it wasn't over crowded. Food was nice - variety of cold/continental items and also hot/cooked breakfast. These were regularly topped up when running low. Staff were again really polite and friendly - could not fault them at all. Tea/coffee was bought to us quickly and we were asked if we wanted some more.
We used the pool - changing areas were clean and well maintained, as was the pool itself. Towels and padlocks for lockers are provided, you just need to deposit your room key card.
We did not use either restaurants for evening meals as we ate out at local pubs instead.
We would definitely return to this hotel for future visits to the area.

Room Tip: It is worth paying a little extra for a Upper Deck room

This is the second De Vere hotel we have stayed in and it lives up to our De Vere standards. Even though we had a special rate for the room the desk staff made us feel very welcome. The facilities are excellent (bar prices were normal pub prices, pool was excellent and the jacuzzi was large) only downside with the pool the lockers require a padlock which the hotel supply but no means of securing the keys to your swim wear. We had a meal in the onsite restaurant which was an Italian. The price of the meal was very reasonable, the decor was very well done out with black and white prints of films stars. Our waitress (Rosie) was very chirpy and chatty which made us feel very welcomed. Breakfast in the morning was excellent. The hotel is located in an industrial park but this didn't worry us as we never left the hotel.

Overall this hotel is good, but after staying Christmas Eve till Boxing Day 2013, I would seriously avoid this hotel AT ALL COSTS over the Christmas break. On Christmas Eve, four of us enjoyed a smashing meal in the Italian restaurant and breakfast on Christmas Day was enjoyable, with pleasant staff, so we thought the Christmas Day meal experience would be fab! How wrong we were. The bar didn't open AT ALL Christmas Day until 6pm, so it was a very dry morning, until we were seated in the restaurant at 2.30pm. When we enquired to why the bar was closed, the receptionist informed us that they were experiencing staff issues! Happy Christmas to you too! The restaurant staff really were the saving grace for the day, dressing up, and getting into the spirit of Christmas. The restaurant tables were festooned with party hats, streamers, masks, and crackers, which was a lovely touch. There were 12 of us dining, and we had pre-ordered, all having fare from the set Christmas Day menu. The starters were ok, with nothing really to write home about, but the main courses of lamb and turkey were some of the worst dishes that we had ever seen. The meat was SO dried out, the vegetables were shrivelled and inedible, and the sauces were thick and unappetising. We complained to the restaurant supervisor, who changed some meals, but in all farness, the replacement meals were just as bad. We each paid over £60 per head for the meal, and truly, it was not worth £10 for the main meal. The staff in the restaurant apologised, but the Christmas Day experience really had been marred by this point. Once out of the restaurant, we travelled to a family members house, and stayed there until arriving back at the hotel at 9pm, whereby we were told by a barman that the bar was closing! He informed us, that "some of us want to go home, as it is Christmas". Nice! The hotel really did nothing to capture the real spirit of Christmas, and I would definitely not recommend that anyone tries this particular hotel for a Christmas Day break, as you are not made to feel special enough. Upon returning home, three members of the party, including me, have contacted De Vere directly, through a hand written note, an email to the CEO Robert Cook, and through social media. Not one response has been forthcoming, and this sums up what De Vere thinks of their customers. Not a lot, it would seem!

Excellent hotel to be based in over week end in London. Check in was effortless, room clean and comfortable. Breakfast - usual continental / cooked fare. Staff were attentive at breakfast - coffee arrived swiftly and was hot. Plates were quickly cleared and I observed staff to interact positively with the guests. We did not eat in the restaurant as we had made other arrangements. You can ask for the independent newspaper to be delivered to your room for free -just ask at reception.
