“excellent sharing tray”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

This was a lovely lunch on a sunny day. It is right by the Aldenham Country park. The lunch was lovely and a great choice of dishes. We went for the sharing platter and had 4 dishes to share. Quick service and great selection of wines etc

“Best customer service I've seen in a long time!!!!”
Reviewed 17 April 2014

It is very rare that I write reviews here but today I visited here with 4 friends for lunch. Being new to the area and driving past I thought it was as good a place to eat as any. From the minute you arrive there is someone GLAD to see you instantly making you feel welcome. At the time the place was mobbed. The manager seated us gave us menus brought our drinks to us and took our order. He explained from the beginning that was a 20 minute wait on food which we didnt mind as we werent going anywhere in a hurry. The food was lovely and my friend loved the pie of the day, licking the bowl clean literally.
The other 2 members of staff were also friendly and nothing seemed too much trouble. All this excellent service while they were clearly very busy is a testament to the restaurant and the staff ,who upon reflection seemed to work very well together.
I would definately recommend the fishery and I would definately recommend the pie of the day!!!!
I'm definately going to go back!!!!!

“Nice web page, shame about the food”
Reviewed 6 April 2014

What a let down after a very nice looking web page. Spent ages trying to find a nice pub in the area only to discover it was just another standard Sunday lunch with very average to poor roast dinners. The first older waitress to serve us would probably be the first to complain if she was served by someone so miserable.

Time to look elsewhere!

“Promised much. Delivered little”
Reviewed 25 March 2014 via mobile

Just stopped for a late working lunch and was let down by the quality of food. Admittedly its outside of peak time but still.

Ordered the steak sandwich (rare). Unfortunately the steak was cold and not even the slightest bit cooked. Also had a 'freshly home made desert' - banoffee pie. It didnt have anything resembling a fresh banana anywhere near it and was obviously a pre frozen one.

Lovely location though, especially if the suns out. And not a bad pint. Im sure the food may be better on another day.

“Pleasant evening”
Reviewed 23 February 2014

We often go to the Fishery, the food is consistently good--nothing wonderful but still up to expectation. Wine is not bad, beer not to my taste but I must say perfectly kept, right temperature and well served. Service is excellent as is the Coffee.
