“ROYAL TREATMENT AT THE CHACE”

We stayed at the Royal Chace which was very convenient while visiting family in Enfield. The staff were very helpful and our stay enjoyable.
It is a busy and popular conference and party venue, which seemed to be managed very well by the staff involved in arrangements.
I have problems with walking and climbing stairs, so we were very impressed when management agreed to move us next door to a room for disabled guests, so we could use the walk- in shower and other facilities.
I would also add that the ladies who managed the Breakfast Room upstairs were very helpful and always cheerful despite how busy they were.

We stayed here Fri 18th - Sun 20th Oct 2013 for my birthday. We were attracted by the website which states 'great for a relaxing break', 'impeccable service', 'tranquil grounds'. We did not experience any of this on our stay.

On the first night there was a party going on below us and loud disco music which woke us up. We called reception and they said it would end at 11:30pm but it didn't so we rang down again and were told it was now ending at 1am!! We were moved rooms to the floor above but received no help with our luggage and the porter made us feel like an inconvenience. The next night we were still unable to sleep due to another late night party and guests returning to their rooms late at night shouting and banging doors.

In the morning we spoke to reception and asked for them to reduce our bill due to our poor experience. But we were met with an aggressive and rude member of staff with a bad attitude and no consideration to how upset the whole weekend had made us. Totally spoilt our weekend and would discourage anyone from staying here who wishes to have a peaceful nights sleep.

The hotel provides a stressful not relaxing stay, the surroundings were noisy and not tranquil and the service was disgraceful and certainly far from impeccable.

Room Tip: There are no good rooms.

I have conducted an investigation and reviewed the Managers report from check out and can see you were happy with the adjustment made to your bill on departure for the inconvenience of moving bedrooms therefore was surprised to read your review.

Happy staff makes happy guests, well the Royal Chace certainly delivers. The staff were all extremely helpful and eager to please. Our Classic Double Room was spacious and came with a lovely garden view. After a lovely dinner in the Chace Brasserie we had a very good night's sleep. For breakfast we had opted for the Full English option which consisted of excellent produce offered buffet style or special requests from the menu (some incurred an extra charge) offered at the table . It is a long time since I have experienced such a high standard of service in a British hotel, well done.

My husband and I stayed for one night for a wedding. An excellent welcome by reception staff who were very friendly. Our room was ready for check in early. Bar service was very good. The wedding was well planned, food was excellent. But........After a long hectic day we were looking forward to a good nights sleep which we didn't get. The room was very stuffy even with both windows open. There was a constant noise which sounded like water pipes that we couldn't do anything about and consequently we had no real sleep. The bedroom was small and in need of updating. Bathroom tiny although the shower was good. Toilet seat needed fixing. There was a broken door on one of the cabinets which would not shut. There was only one bath towel provided and by the time we realised it was too late to go and ask for another. At breakfast my tea cup had lipstick on it and I had to ask for it to be changed. We were part of a large party and the waiting staff were anxious to find out whether we had all had our cooked breakfast despite the fact it was only 9.20 and breakfast is served until 10.00. Some items were missing from the hot food menu as they had run out. I would not rate this as four star. We stay in a lot of hotels and it is the small details that make all the difference. A good quality nights sleep must come top of the list of requirements.

Arranged at party for just over 100 people in The Queens suite at The Royal Chace. Sue Wood was excellent in assisting us with all our plans. The evening was fabulous. Delicious food and great party atmosphere. Thank you to all the staff at The Royal Chace who helped to make the evening such a success.

Staff uncooperative. arrived early after overnight flight and they refused to admit us early, even though they had said they could before arrival

Std room is very small .. no tiny .full size bed. No AC, primitive heat control. Restaurant is pricey, limited menu. I hate it here and cant wait to leave.. no way a 4 star hotel - 2 star maybe

Room Tip: best tip would be to look for a different hotel

Had a great stay, guy on reception was friendly, helpful and professional. room was clean and had a quiet night. Good bar meal and then nice breakfast the following morning. I would recommend this hotel to others

I note you enjoyed the Bar food when you stayed and maybe are interested to learn we have re-opening the Chace Brasserie on the 1st floor that offers more casual relaxed atmosphere in addition to the fine dinning menu served in the Kings Restaurant on the ground floor.
