The atmosphere, staff and food were all good and good value except as the previous reviewer stated they have the habit of drowning the food in gravy. My meal did not include gravy so not my complaint. My wife had roast beef and she likes a little gravy on the meat, not all over. The gravy should be served separately or the option should be offered. No different from asking how you like your steak cooked. It is a matter of taste. I have recently dined with two other people at a different establishment who sent their meals back for this very reason and don't particularly want to go back again. So please please note as I thoroughly enjoyed my mixed grill but may be prevented from doing so again if others won't attend due to the gravy.

Nice place and nice beers etc. Shame that they have to drown the food in gravy. Perhaps this was to hide the fact that there was so little meet on the plate!

For fans of the sport this venue pushed the boundaries!

There are references to cricket all over the place, & done very well: from the scoreboard style pub name, through LBW references, cricket ball lamps, stumps for the beer taps & fences - there' so many, some subtle.

The staff were friendly and efficient, and the food was of good quality, and upmarket pub-grub.

I live close by so visit this pub occasionally. I would go regularly but the manager is always rude and unfriendly and though there is a very high turnover of staff , they tend to be disinterested and slightly rude also. Following his lead I feel.

Food is average though the pub is very nice since the last refurbishment.

It is a shame as it is a nice pub, just wonder what is wrong with the manager ?

Very popular pub in enfield town, north London and is a McMullen brewery. A very friendly pub with great service. The food menu is typical of any McMullen pub but very good and reasonably priced. There is limited parking but don't let this put you off. Thursday is quiz night hosted by Greg which is very good fun and the weekends are very busy.
