“Forty Hall, Historic Beauty”

Forty Hall & Estate
Reviewed 8 October 2013

Forty Hall is a great Place to visit, all year round. Beautful gardens, which are expecially lovely at rhododendron and Wisteria time. the walled rose garden is a wonderful place to sit and just take a quiet moment from the busyness of the world. A beautiful pond, with ducks geese and other water fowl. Extensive walks, that also join up with Hilly Fields. there is a cafe that serves good food and a very good 'cuppa'. The House itself houses a very interesting museum and hosts other exhibitions from time to time. The house is such a beautful design, and must have been very grand in its heyday, with links to Inigo Jones. Lots to look at, find the little gravestones, a monument to some pets from the house. There is plenty of parking, and flat paths for walking with prams, buggies and wheelchairs. But also plenty of walking over the pasture land, maybe not so suitable for prams and buggies, but the Kids and the dogs will love it!

Forty Hall is a wonderful scenic and tranquil place where people bring their children.Artists bring their easels and everyone enjoys the views. There is a cafe in the courtyard I have not been to in a while, Last year I found it was over priced and badly managed hopefully this has changed.I adore Forty Hall and I am there most days with my dog.In my opinion if you have not been here you are missing out.

I loved Forty Hall. The house is magnificent - it is now open for viewing, but I remember it not being open for viewings when I was younger. Glad it is now, since it is a treat. There is a nice café, bit pricey, but has good selection, and there is vast fields and a forest if you fancy a walk and a pond in the centre of the estate outside the house if you fancy a sitdown or just watching the ducks.

Fine 17th century house recently upgraded, with superb gardens and probably the biggest wistaria in England. Good local displays, large car park, ace cafe.

We spent the whole afternoon relaxing on the grounds whilst the kids played happily. Perfect place for a picnic. The park has a lake with ducks, rose garden and cafe and is such a nice peaceful place.
Well worth a visit on a nice day and its free!! :)
