Visited recently for a lunchtime family meal, there were 5 of us and we all ate from the light bites menu.
The first complaint I had was that the prawns in the cocktail I ordered were still frozen! I sent them back (when I eventually managed to catch a member of staff's eye) and they were replaced (although I wasn't given any other option)but this is a schoolboy error which should not have happened.
All of our main courses were terrible. One tiny portion of salmon, honestly it had to be seen to be believed - it was too small even for a starter! Vegetable accompaniments were overcooked and tasted awful. The gravy accompanying the meat pie was congealed beyond recognition. The scampi was of very low quality and was served with a tiny ramekin of chips. The portions were meagre, deserts were served in the ubiquitous ramekins - which could be seen as a positive as the quality was so poor.
Staff were not overtly rude, they just gave the impression that they really could not be bothered, passing plates of food over people's heads and expecting you to grab them rather than placing them on the table to name a couple of instances. There were only 10 people in the place but I had to go walkabout to find someone who could give me some tartare sauce (which should automatically come with the scampi shouldn't it?)
This pub used to be known for the quality of its food so it must have changed hands as it is a million miles away from the Percy Arms I have previously eaten in (admittedly a while ago).
There are plenty of quality places to eat in the area and we will definitely not go back and I would suggest you give it a miss also.
