Hi - The new chef is fantastic. We normally eat here every Sunday at the Carvery, but this time we also decided to try their menu for Monday to Saturday and ate here last Friday evening (4 in party) had pigeon, scallops, pheasant, steak and lamb - starters and main courses. The food was wonderful and service excellent. Flavours were exquisite. Plenty of choice from the main menu to the specials board. We will definitely be going again soon.

The menu here has several old favourites but it is spiced up with some unusual additions such as beef daube and chilli garlic chicken. You don't often get the option of king scallops as a starter either!

The beef daube was superb and the meal was well presented on a warmed plate (it makes a difference).

The pub has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and happy to chat should you wish to strike up a conversation.

There is a selection of beers, of which the Old Mill Traditional and Winter Warmer real ales were particularly appreciated.

The decor was very interesting too, with various colourful guitars mounted on the walls here and there.

All in all, definitely worth a visit!

Ten of us all having different meals. Lovely, friendly, helpful waitress and bar staff. Very versatile menu as well. I had Brisket cottage pie, vegetables and gravy. Others had cod and chips, ribeye steak, steak pie, stroganoff, garlic mushrooms, garlic bread..can’t remember them all, and, here we go: lemon cheesecake, ice creams, fruit crumble - portions satisfying and lemon Cheesecake (definitely home made) was slightly tart and sweet (perfect for my palate.) All of us emptied our plates. Definitely my pub of choice and worth 13 miles to get there.
