I first went to this restaurant in November 2011 after hearing good reports. The food was first class, and as the quality of the chef - a former chef at the top notch Cinnamon Club in Westminster – showed in the delicacy of flavours and presentation. My very full review and background can be seen if you trawl back to November 2011.
I have been numerous times since, as it really hits the spot being different to the usual Bangladeshi high street curryhouses (even if there are some very good ones of these about). It may be a bit less plush inside than some, but it’s comfortable enough. It may have a more limited menu than some, but there’s a perfectly adequate selection: It may be that it won’t feature your favourite dish, but what there is will be probably better: It may have fewer diners than some and a bit quieter, which is a shame but that doesn’t mean it’s not good: It may be that I will continue to use it regularly? - You can bet on it!
As I haven’t sent a review for 2 years I thought I’d send another simply to say that in the time since I first went it has continued to be, and still is, excellent. The only reason I give it four stars rather than five is that it does not match some of the more stylish restaurants for décor, it can be fairly quiet at times so can lack a buzzing atmosphere, and occasionally in the past the waitress could be a little diffident (although the manager and chef – who pops out of the kitchen periodically – are very friendly). If it were marked on the food alone, then it certainly would warrant a five (and having an extensive background in Indian foods - see profile for details – I am hard to please when it comes to giving above average markings for Indian restaurants!)
