“Great value and ideal location for Manchester Airport”
Reviewed 9 July 2011

My wife and I stayed at Heatherlea in early July 2011 and were quite pleased. The house is a fifteen minute walk from the rail station on a quiet street. Marjorie and Diane were lovely hosts and quite helpful. They even arranged an early morning airport shuttle pickup for us which was a great deal as well as a real convenience. The B & B had large, spotless rooms, en suite bath, and beautiful gardens. The breakfast was very good, and we were absolutely satisfied with this guesthouse. We strongly recommend this B & B as a great value in Wilmslow.

My husband and I stayed here whilst visiting our new grand daughter (Tilly) and found Diane and Marjorie excellent hosts, making us feel welcome and relaxed. Our room was spotlessly clean, nice en suite, fluffy white towels, tea/coffee/biscuits etc provided and the essential box of tissues and hairdryer for myself !! The breakfast was superb. Very good value for money in a lovely environment. Would highly recommend.

Room Tip: We had a twin room, which was big and light.

We stayed overnight for a christening with a friend and the staff were very friendly and didn't mind that we checked in late as we were busy catching up with our friends. Our friend actually stayed in the house next door and because it was late ( 10ish) we were shown to our rooms but wanted to catch up more but didn't feel we could so it was shame we weren't in the same buidling or there wasn't a communal space. However it was only small detail.
The bed was quite comfortable with good pillows. The view from the window, over the beautifully kept garden, was lovely and it was quiet, however the curtains were made from a very thin material so in the morning it was quite bright- we had rare mancunian sunshine shining through! The room also had 2 chairs good for having a cup of tea in and watching the small flat screen. I would say the overall effect of the room is quite 'chintzy' and maybe a little dated but I think that's part of it's charm.

The bathroom was v modern, good shower and v clean. A few cobwebs in the corners of the bedroom ceiling though!

Breakfast was really good- we had the full english which set us up for the day- really good and the staff were really lovely!

All in all great value!

i booked a week in advance, we wanted a four bed room, which is what we got. Marjory was lovley on the telephone and we even got a discount to the listed price. We wanted to plug our dvd player in and Dianne went out of her way to provide a scart lead for when we arrived. The garden is beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was traditional and tasty. All four of us were very happy and cant wait to come back!

I have stayed here several times, with my Husband and alone, and each time I have stayed in a different room. whichever one i have been in shows the same high standards, were all equally as comfortable and are lovely and warm.

i had problems eating the generous breakfast provided. It was lovely to have a bright smile and friendly chat first thing in the morning which set me up for the day.

Marjorie and Diane are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They work very hard to make everything run smoothly and you feel you are in the presence of a well run and professional establishment.

There is 'spacious' parking facilities for those of you who, like me, are 'challenged' when reversing into a parking space!

I am booked on further trips to Manchester, returning to stay here and have made the decision that i wouldn't stay anywhere else again.

Stayed at the Heatherlea for 2 nights and have to say this is premier division in terms of B&B. Room was spotless and very comfortable and Diane & Marjorie couldn't have done more to make our stay enjoyable. Throw in the free access to broadband and excellent breakfast (including takeaway bacon butties as an alternative to breakfast) and this is excellent value for money. We have no hesitation in recommending highly for business or pleasure.
