“Perfect for Us and the Pooch”
Reviewed 2 November 2015 for a stay in October 2015

Travelling with a small dog, two children and two adults, its not always easy to find the right accommodation that suits everyone's needs. But this was just right for us. Perfectly placed overlooking the entrance to the marina in Portishead, this neat and bright, cottage style small house was a lovely base for our few days away. Simply furnished with good kitchen tools and modern interior. Plenty of hot water, upstairs bathroom and downstairs toilet, seating for 4 although the property allows sleeping for 6!!!
The bedrooms are small, but adequate, with the bunk beds ideal for the small children. The small double bed in the master room was not the most comfortable, a little lumpy and small duvet meant that there was a duvet war through the night.
A more suitable mat for wiping feet would be welcome to keep the floors clean and dry, along with some board games. The binoculars were a nice touch.
The car space is good, although unloading wellies, bags, food, suitcases, coats and bags meant lots of journeys back and forth and lots of locking and unlocking of the car.
A nice pub up the steps in front of the property for good beer and food, but not dog friendly.
This was a nicely placed property, with a nice outlook, good walks around and about and we shall definitely be booking again.

Very clean and well furnished property. Suited my family of 5 very well. A little tricky to find by car the first time, but we soon got used to it. Lots of storage and comfy beds upstairs. Stairs are fairly steep and may be tricky for those with mobility issues - toilet but no shower downstairs. For those who plan to "eat in", the kitchen is very small and the cooking equipment provided is limited. However you are very close to lots of restaurants and cafes. The location of this cottage is it's real benefit. There are beautiful estuary views from the living room and bunk bed room, whatever the weather! You can have a coffee sitting on the bench over the road and watch the ships and boats. Literally a stone's throw from the (stony) beach which the kids loved. Within 5 minutes walk are the marina, pubs, cafe, restaurant, & shop. A little further (but still walkable) are the High Street, nature walk, lake grounds park, outdoor swimming pool, leisure centre with indoor pool and more. A great, safe place for a family break, would recommend and come back again. (Just remember, towels are not included and there is no wi-fi)

“Home from Home”
Reviewed 24 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

It is worth the trouble locating this property which suffers from the infamous Port Marine numbering system. The weekend we were there was the official opening of the Lifeboat Station which is viewed directly out of the cottage together with the traffic to the Ferry terminal. The only downside was the poor shower adjustment.

This is a charming cottage in a great location. The marina development is delightful, ideal for a gentle stroll. Morrisons and Costa are a few minutes walk away and other supermarkets, bars and restaurants are close by. We arrived on a Saturday evening and the marina was buzzing, with quite a Mediterranean feel!
The cottage is equipped with everything you need for a holiday and we felt quite at home there. It is ideally placed for visiting Bristol and nearby coastal towns such as Clevedon and Weston-super-Mare. We would definitely recommend it and hope to return soon.

“Peaceful homely retreat with great view and location”
Reviewed 1 April 2015 for a stay in April 2015

Really enjoyed the couple of nights we spent at the cottage. House was warm and clean, lovely decor and beds comfy. As there was only two of us stopping and our dog we found the space just right in the cottage.Think it would be ideal for a couple with 2 childen. Sofa folded down in living room to accomodate more guests, but as there was only dining and seating for 4 -would be quite crowded. Downstairs loo a bonus though if more guests were staying?
Ate in one night(Morrisons local only 5 minute walk away) dined out the other at The Royal-follow the steps up behind the lifeboat station for great service, view and food.
Loved the marina area and the walk along the front to the bird sanctuary was a great place to exercise the dog. Dogs not allowed in restricted areas but can follow path around the perimeter of sanctuary. Good for joggers too.
No Wifi in cottage but after visiting The Royal was still able to access the Cloud?
Parking is next to the new lifeboat station, overlooking the water-just one space allocated and i imagine finding another would be quite difficult?
Would go back to property and area again.

“Wonderful cottage, great location, perfect for our family”

This cottage was booked for 2 nights so we could visit the Bloodhound Technical Centre in Avonmouth. Perfect location about 6 miles away on a new build estate by the marina. Allocated Parking right outside. Shops nearby and a great chip shop visited on the Saturday. Only points were a lack of toilet rolls and a squirt of washing up liquid, that's all! So if we're commenting about those small things it shows how nice the cottage was. May stay here again if we get to visit the Bloodhound factory again. Booking was simple, regular emails from owners, no issues at all. Wifi is a bit hit and miss, but again, not a major issue especially as you are right on the estuary with views of the lifeboat house.
