We just went to the hotel for lunch before flying from Bristol airport.
We thought it would make a change from airport food.
First impressions of the hotel reception area were good and we had coffee and looked at the lunch menu. It covered the usual light bites and fish and chips, sausage and mash etc and was reasonably priced.
Unfortunately it took 50 minutes for the meals to arrive. It was hard to understand the reason for the long wait as the restaurant was closed and no-one else was eating, it was 12.20 pm when we ordered so it was lunchtime.
We asked several times for the meals and said that we had a plane to catch and we were getting more and more frustrated. Just when we were on the point of leaving the meals finally arrived.
The waitress was very apologetic, it wasn't her fault obviously something was amiss in the kitchen, and she said that she would take 50% off our bill, which we accepted.
It was a disappointing experience as the the quality of the food was very good.
We were able to find the hotel as we had directions from a friend but it was not well signposted as it is out in the country and a friend's Sat Nav directed her to a nearby farm.More
