Went for a free afternoon tea with some friends on the 18th July after winning the easter raffle, service and quality just as good as our previous visit, will definitely visit again, the afternoon tea for 2 people for £20 is great value the sandwiches and warm scones with jam and clotted cream are delicious! All the volunteers work hard to give you great service, a lovey place for an afternoon tea.

“Outstanding taste and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014

We had afternoon tea here yesterday and can't praise the centre or the volunteers highly enough. Not only was the service friendly and professional but the food and the tea were delicious. The teapot was refilled over and again and we could happily have sat there all day. The room is beautifully decorated and feels like stepping back in time - there is even authentic music playing in the background. The cake stand for 2 people was filled to capacity with tasty treats - dainty sandwiches with various gorgeous fillings, scones, cream, jam, miniature cakes and sweet treats. Jugs of water or fruit squash are also included in the price. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble and we were shocked to find out they are all volunteers. This place really is well worth visiting - more than once! It is an ideal place for a walk followed by a snack and a warm drink if you haven't pre-booked an afternoon tea. We will definitely be calling again and again - thank you to all concerned.

“Beautiful afternoon made special by staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014

Had afternoon tea here with family and friends to celebrate a baby shower. What a great afternoon we have had. The staff were excellant, attentive, professional and friendly and made us all feel really special. The cakes and sandwiches were lovely and the tea pot was kept topped up all afternoon. Would definately recommend this.

“Surprise baby shower - absolutely perfect afternoon tea! ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 July 2014 via mobile

My mum and best friend organised a surprise baby shower for me here and it was completely perfect!!! The venue is beautifully decorated and set out. The afternoon tea is really generous and the best I've tasted!

Nothing was too much trouble for any of the volunteers and they made me feel so special from the moment I walked through the door!

My gran played a few tunes on the piano and everyone had a brilliant afternoon!!! We all felt welcomed, comfortable and spoilt!

I will definitely be returning very soon to sample some other delights that were on offer!

Thank you!

“Wonderful Afternoon Tea!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2014

We booked the Indian Raj afternoon Tea for two. I can only say that is was really scrumptious! There was plenty of delicately filled finger sandwiches. Lovely home baked scones, little bite size cakes, chocolates and the Indian part was some mini onion bhajis and 3 different types of dips. The whole cake stand was choc a block with treats and we were very greedy and polished off the whole lot!!! There was a selection of different teas to choose from and extra tea was not a problem. The staff and service were friendly and they seemed to actually enjoy serving customers which is lovely from people who are giving up their free time. The atmosphere of the tea room was completed by a live piano player and I loved the good old fashioned feel of the place from the interesting knick knacks around the room to the mix and match of the china crockery.

This is a charming little find that is slightly off the beaten track but very easy to get to. I would recommend every one to get their sat nav on and treat yourselves.
