“SENSATIONAL FOODS...”
Reviewed 20 July 2014

Friends in circle agreed to have a fine dine 3 weeks ago for our thanksgiving celebration. I volunteered to find and arrange for the group where to have it and I suggested NUTTERS Restaurant as I was searching for one in Rochdale Nutters popped out with excellent feedbacks. On arrival the lady at the reception was very friendly and we were catered to the bar area whilst we waiting for our assigned table, waiters in the bar were very accommodating. Food was excellent and very impressive presentation, ambience 5/5 , fantastic waiters, MR.ROD came to our table with a big and accommodating smiles, the price that we paid were very reasonable. I will recommend this restaurant 5/5 and with no hesitant to come back soon.

“Flawless Food”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

What a magnificent building in beautiful grounds, but ruined by tacky signage that makes the place look like a cheap 90s nightclub!

On arrival, we were asked to sit in the bar area and were provided with beautiful canapes including delicious lamb samosas. They were all very tasty, but incredibly salty.

The pate starter was fantastic, as was the selection of complimentary bread, which included olive, cheese and black pudding.

Our main courses were equally as delicious: fillet of beef and trio of pork. The beef came with a rarebit topping and was served with a combination of bacon and potato. The trio of pork consisted of belly pork, loin and ham hock combined with potato. The meat was of a high quality.

We ordered the platter of mini desserts, all of which were to die for and included sticky toffee pudding, bread and butter pudding, white chocolate eclair, caramel ice cream and passion fruit cheesecake. Beware: the portion is huge and one is enough for 2 people. However, if you have large appetites, then order one each.

The waiting staff were attentive, but a little on the distant side. There seemed to be one man acting in a front of house capacity. He approached customers at tables, but seemed to pick and choose who he did this to, leaving other customers (us) feeling a little ignored.

The atmosphere was a little stuffy, with dated touches such as white linen table cloths and old-fashioned decor. There seemed to be many customers dressed up to the nines in suits and formal dresses - not what a first timer would expect from a restaurant in Rochdale, so we felt slightly under dressed.

The prices are a little on the high side. We ordered 1 starter, 2 main courses and 1 pudding with 1 glass of champagne, 2 glasses of red wine and a soft drink. The bill came to just over £90.

Despite the negatives that I have mentioned, I still give 5/5 to this restaurant due to the excellence in quality of everything we ate, which overrides any of the picky comments.

“July 2014”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Went to celebrate my son and daughters recent graduations. We have been a number of times before, over a number of years - and travel an hour to get there. Our most recent visit was the best yet. The pre dinner service was a little hesitant/variable but the rest of the evening was superb. We had an excellent table overlooking the terrace. The food was excellent. The wine list is well researched and good value for money with some novel listings. The tables are set formally with white tables cloths etc but the atmosphere is far from stuffy and the place has a good buzz. We will be back later in the year.

“One of the best meals we have ever had !!!”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

Me and the wife went to Nutters in May for our wedding anniversary and we had some of the best food we have ever experienced.

Once you arrive you are promptly greeted and show to the seating area near the bar where you are offered a selection of beautiful canapes with your drinks, plus a vast wine list.

The food menus you are given have a fantastic choice of food to choose from, our choices form the starter to the desert were to die for, each mouthful brought a smile to our face.

A special mention goes to Rodney who makes you feel very welcome and always remembers your face.

All in all a great experience and well worth the money.
