“Awful organisation!”
Reviewed 17 January 2014

I booked my wedding with City pavillion last year in the banqueting area. Biggest mistake of my life! the food (pannas catering)was not the same to when I actually went and tried it. On the day of the wedding.. the Naans were burnt, food had alot of salt and alot of oil in. my wedding was for 400 people, and the food ran out- when trying to resolve the matter the waiter, he simply strugged his shoulders.

in a nutshell. city pillvion ruined my big day.

“Great for bowling, but...”
Reviewed 16 October 2013

This is great for bowling, but on a Saturday night mega noisy with the DJ, could be turned down a bit, but the place is looking a bit tired and could do with some money spent on it. The staff are very friendly and helpful. and it a good price for bowling. the food in the cafe is not good, so eat upstairs at the Indian or Italian. the complex is a unusual to look at from the outside and there is plenty of parking..... and after bowling try air hockey etc.

“Terrible experience for child's birthday party”
Reviewed 9 October 2013

Just held my son's birthday party at this venue. The children had a good time but from a parent's perspective, it's shocking that they charge £10 per child for the service they provide. All our party hosts did were enter the names on the machines and put balloons on the tables. There was no added fun for the children, no organisation of our party and at the end only 5 boy party bags for a booking of 20 children, for a boys party.
Furthermore the manager, was so rude, and shouted at us for complaining about the day, the toilets were dirty and it really was badly managed. Despite being a Saturday the venue was not that busy but the management couldn't cope. We saw another family complaining about there experience while we were there too.We were left very disappointed that our party was chaos, and despite booking your venue to take the stress out of the day, it the most stressful party we have held or attended. I'm not sure what impression the Roller-bowl want to give parents but this definitely was not a positive one. Such a missed opportunity for other parents to book the venue for their children and we really couldn't understand what the charge of £10 per child actually equates too.

“Badly organised child's party...”
Reviewed 28 September 2013 via mobile

Attended a child's bowling party. It was very badly managed by the staff. They didn't seem to know what to do or how to handle the children.

We'd been told to arrive 15 mins before the party slot to put the bowling shoes on. As it was they didn't start sorting the shoes until after the party slot time by which time the kids were getting agitated.

Despite knowing about our booking, our lanes weren't ready and were being cleared of cups/food packets after the start time of the slot.

Once we got to the lanes there weren't enough of the guide things (not sure what they are called, children use them) for one per lane so we had to request one.

The staff were on the terse side considering the number of issues - they really should have been more apologetic/eager to please in my opinion.

However, the kids enjoyed themselves but the lack of good service put me off ever having a party there.

It isn't like they never have parties, there were at least 3 being held during the 2 hours we were there.
