“not traditional”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

I am wheat intolerant and always check ingredients otherwise I would be very poorly. Traditional Indian restaurants use gram, rice and lentil flour so these are a firm favourite with wheat and gluten intolerance sufferers. upon asking a staff member I was informed that this restaurant uses mixed flour including wheat flour. I was happy with the service and the restaurant was busy always a good sign. even though recommendations were made I was quite poorly during the night. lovely atmosphere unfortunately due to the mixed flours I won't be able to eat there again. perhaps a warning on the menu or website would be an advantage.

“Lovely food ,surroundings and attentive service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014

Lovely, modern, clean surroundings along with a friendly welcome! Food is delicious, authentic, fresh and plentiful. Chips are home made and yummy . I recommend the popadums, onion barghi and the kasmiri chicken. You leave with a £5 voucher for next time - definately try it!

“No complaints”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014

We tried this place for the first time, like to sample differing Indians around so here we were, the decor is very new and modern,we were seated on a long soft seating area and the place was quite busy. The waiter came over with the menus, asked us if we'd like drinks first or would we like a bit more time(which makes a difference from some places where they just want to rack up a bar bill)anyway we ordered the poppadoms and chutney tray,on the menu it said lime pickle 70p,I've never understood why some places give you a bog standard chutney tray and charge you for extra dip,in fact I think poppadoms and their chutneys should be complimentary, however we then ordered starters of chicken chat, onion bhaji and meat samosa(they brought us veggie samosa which were to be honest tasteless) the mains where all chicken dishes murgi masala, chilli balti and Kashmiri,a very sweet dish made with mango, two of the dishes had the vegetables cut very big which I like in a curry, very nice too,we also had two pilau rice and two keema nana, there being three of us the waiter advised that the rice portions were quite big and two rather than three would be better,he was right, with 4 pints of cobra and one coke the whole lot came to £58,quite reasonable for me.My only criticism would be the mistake with the samosa and the keema naan were a bit well done and a bit flat and a thin layer of keema inside which was hard to spot without a good search but these are minor 'faults',all in all I think it's a decent place, the waiter was honest and attentive and the price was very competitive, the whole experience gets an 8/10 this based on our 10/10 experiences with Indian restaurants but if local I would recommend

“Great to really poor in a matter of months”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 May 2014

This used to be a great restaurant with brilliant food and service either eating in or takinhg out. WHAT WENT WRONG? Sat in a few weeks ago and service was very poor. Part of our order was left out and we waited ages. So week before last we decided to give it one last chance with a take away order that was arranged that we pick it up in one hour. My wife went an hour later as advised, to be left sitting staring out of the window, so as not to make people dining in feel uncomfortable for another hour. We finally get our food home to find they had omitted our keema naan. Back on the phone to be told it was on it's way. 25 minutes later a plain naan is dropped off. the food was average and certainly not up to the standard i was used to. I decided to email my complaint to them. I still haven't received an apology or explanation. So I've decided to put my views on this site. I put the awful service down to the restaurant being extended. Not a good enough excuse for me. I won't be using this restaurant again and I would never recommend it to anyone who values good food and good service.
