If you are the type who likes cucumber sandwiches with crusts cut off and presented on a dainty plate, for which you pay handsomely then this is not the place for you. If you are just looking for a decent cup of tea or coffee with an everyday sandwich, bap, pastie, sausage roll, cake etc the it is well worth a visit. All the savouries and cakes are made fresh daily on the premeses and the sandwiches are made to order.
I have visited on a number of accessions and the staff have always been helpful.
As well as lunch I have in the past had a takeaway full English breakfast... Not recommended if you don't have a decent appetite. " will set you up for the day" as my mother would say"
I went yesterday for lunch . We were a group of five. We had 2 paninis, two sandwiches, all with a bit of fresh salad, three coffees , a tea and a coke. All were fantastic, made fresh to order and the bill was just over £15. Now if that isn't good value, I don't know what is ! While there I noticed that they also do a takeaway tradiditional Sunday roast. I haven't tried it but I am sure it will have potatoes rather that "pomme" and gravy rather than "jus" and will be served "with" rather than "on a bed of" vegetables. One for the future I think...
