“Just the place for a bit of lunch”
Reviewed 10 July 2014

If you are the type who likes cucumber sandwiches with crusts cut off and presented on a dainty plate, for which you pay handsomely then this is not the place for you. If you are just looking for a decent cup of tea or coffee with an everyday sandwich, bap, pastie, sausage roll, cake etc the it is well worth a visit. All the savouries and cakes are made fresh daily on the premeses and the sandwiches are made to order.
I have visited on a number of accessions and the staff have always been helpful.
As well as lunch I have in the past had a takeaway full English breakfast... Not recommended if you don't have a decent appetite. " will set you up for the day" as my mother would say"
I went yesterday for lunch . We were a group of five. We had 2 paninis, two sandwiches, all with a bit of fresh salad, three coffees , a tea and a coke. All were fantastic, made fresh to order and the bill was just over £15. Now if that isn't good value, I don't know what is ! While there I noticed that they also do a takeaway tradiditional Sunday roast. I haven't tried it but I am sure it will have potatoes rather that "pomme" and gravy rather than "jus" and will be served "with" rather than "on a bed of" vegetables. One for the future I think...

“Butties are ok, pastys may be better”
Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

Popped in for a quick bite to eat. The sandwich was ok, but nothing special. The pastries looked like they might have been better, so will try them next time

“Nice scran”

Decent spot for a hangover butty, never tried them but the home made pies, pasties, sausage rolls and cakes look lovely, will get round to it one day.
