“Spectacular”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2014

Chartwell House is wonderful, the grounds are splendid, it was great to see how the great man relaxed, it also allowed you to experience he paintings that Churchill produced and to see his studio and the depth of some of his paintings. Although there is a Ginger Cat on the premises he was not to be found. Part of the House has been converted to a museum with a display of his various uniforms and robes, and a gifts received throughout Churchill's life.
Oh yes the black swans do attack, as witnessed.

“A step back to the 1930's”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 August 2014 via mobile

Had a wonderful visit here in the August rain! House and gardens well worth a view.
House furnished in 1930's style and the attendants in each of the rooms extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Visits are timed to ensure no overcrowding which seems to work well.
Visited the restaurant which had been refurbished since my last visit. Food was very good and good value for money.
Parking easy.
Well worth the visit.

“A Wonderful House”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2014

Chartwell is an absolute must to visit. The house at Lady Churchill's request is shown as it would have been when it was a busy family home in the 1920's and 1930's. The grounds are well kept and it has a very peaceful feel to it despite the fact it can get very busy. Entrance to the house is by timed tickets so be sure to collect your ticket as soon as you arrive.

The stewards were welcoming and knowledgable. The restaurant and gift shop are worth a visit too.
