This is my local but have not used it for some years due to previous poor experiences.
However, I heard/read that it had changed hands and was now much improved, so went here with my partner for a Sunday lunch to give it a go. Very pleased to report that both roast meals were great, nice puddings and great ales. I had the beef and had 3 or 4 good thick slices and my partner had a lovely lamb steak. She wasn't so keen on the roast potatoes as she thought them too well done - but I love them like that.
Guest ale was Spitfire, but I liked that they had 2 cornish ales on as well - only shame is I didn't get to try them all - next time maybe!
Would be wise to book as it is not a big place and is clearly getting more popular now word is getting around locally that it has changed hands.. Conservatory and small garden at the rear with tables - very family and dog friendly. Nice atmosphere and a vast improvement all round.
Warm welcome and good service throughout, so will be back i'm sure.
