Rainy bank holiday Monday- Oh what to do ? Ah- rather than visit the new cultural meccas of this country, ie shopping centres, I suggested the Lightbox- interesting, aimed at children as well as adults and cultural ( in the correct sense). So we drove to Woking and found the Lightbox art gallery and museum, only to find that driving behind it there is a big notice saying NO PARKING, so change direction, drive over canal/river and follow signs to Pubic Car Park which us under cover and pay on exit. Then find our way ( no signposts to art gallery) only to find that the Lightbox is CLOSED on Sundays/Mondays and Bank holidays !!! This must be one of the only museums in the country aimed at children to not be open at the time that parents want to take their children. Quite unbelievable. So as the parking is £1.20 per hr ( yes that is correct). What do we do. You have guessed it- we crossed over the dual carriageway and joined the HOARDS of people aimlessly walking round the ' cultural mecca ' of the various depressing shopping arcades of Woking town. I am sure that the owners would say that the gallery is closed due to budget cuts, So sad, as many of the reviews have commented on how good it is for children, but maybe the Peacock centre is more interesting nowadays. So beware- also there seem to be no signposts, perhaps they do not want too many visitors ! Sadly I will probably not go again.

It's a nice gallery space but the collection is quite traditional and not experimental enough. It's a local municipal gallery and seems like one. I'd like to see more experimental and exciting work use the lovely space. Shop and cafe were OK. No parking on site and cafe had nice outdoor area.

Well i haven't been here in a long time an despite it been raining a lot the passed days it still here next to the river. It always has a good interesting art exhibitions for people to come and look around and see different crafts and art examples. They one good thing its situated away from the very busy working shopping area where people can come and relax in some peace and quiet. The very nice cafe offers very reasonable beverages which after walking around in that 2 floors of halls its nice to just either sit outside or inside the medium space to have a chat to your partner or family member. There is WiFi here in which I using to write this, just ask at reception.

The very best thing about this place is that entry is Free.
