like every innkeepers lodge, this is a bit tired, worn and in need of an upgrade. The room we had (208) at best could be called compact and bijou, but was spotlessly clean and big enough for 2-just.
The car park, apparently never has any security problems and it was great to park the car and walk to Woking train station (15mins) and get to London.
Check in was simple and polite. Housekeeping was perfect with clean bedding, towels and tea and coffee facilities.
Meals in the Ember Inn restaurant were typical of any pub, with an extensive menu and well served with polite, friendly staff. Breakfast was a continental breakfast that was well presented and fresh.
Opposite the hotel giving lovely views from the front windows in the restaurant is a huge park/recreational ground, with cricket, football etc and also a children's play area with swings, slides etc, making the lodge well suited for children, although I note on the website that there are only triple rooms, allowing for 1 child.
If you want something for an incredible price (3 nights works out at £20pppn), do not want 4star luxury for 2 star prices then you need go no further than the Wheatsheaf Inn, Woking.More
