“Beautiful setting, lovely staff”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

If it's a lovely view your after then this is for you. Lots of tables outside and a good family atmosphere with pets allowed. Service from staff was second to none. Food didn't fare as well, mussels small and lots not cooked properly, chips were oven chips and bread was given without butter. Also a bit pricey for what you get. I appreciate that things have to come from the mainland but still overpriced. Still give it a try though, the view is worth the extra cost.

“Best Meal Out we've had in a long time.”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

We came across to Gigha for the day and had booked the Boathouse as a birthday meal. We were warmly greeted and given a choice of where to sit and shown the specials board. I ordered mussels to start and then local lobster. I can honestly say it was the best I've tasted. My husband and kids also had a lovely meal. The whole meal was finished off by being totally embarrassed by everyone singing me happy birthday. Thanks for a lovely afternoon.

“beautiful food, beautiful view”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

Stayed in Gigha for a couple of days. Had sneaky lunch here with daughter that was so beautiful that it would have been unfair not to come back for dinner with husband and sons. Halibut cooked to perfection, gorgeous monkfish, perfect juicy scallops and a burger for the non fish lover; all drooled over and munched in the presence of doleful hound. We sat on the deck ( so that dog didn't have to be alone) and looked out over the turquoise water. Despite a light smirk, we stayed out and had pud; parfait, chocolate mousse and the best cheeseboard that my husband has ever had.
The staff had had a difficult week as one had been in an accident but they were lovely, smiley, pleasant and well organised.
A really wonderful lace

“Outstanding food, service and value - amazing location.”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

As day trippers to Gigha we indulged in a long lunch before catching the ferry back to Kintyre. We were lucky with wonderful weather, so after a relaxing bike ride the length of the island we grabbed a table outside and ordered from the fresh daily catch menu. We tried scallops, langoustine tails, mussels and some fish in various guises. The food was sublime, top quality cooking with outstandingly fresh ingredients. Very large portions for the seafood made this outstanding value.
After a suitable rest, we did indulge by sharing a couple if puddings, both of which were excellent.
At all times the service was friendly, efficient and professional. Amazing.
