“It's the best bite in Emlyn”
Reviewed 10 April 2014

This little cafe/burger bar has it all.
Freshly made burgers using high quality and locally sourced suppliers.
A friendly owner who has a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen and can cook amazing meals.
The thing that seperated Ffres burgers from the likes of McDonalds is quality. On avergage a Ffres meal will cost you £4-7 depending on what you order, which is pennies more than a McD but with the difference that Ffres packs the biggest punch in taste and quality AND portions.
You get what you pay for there, A huge burger, packed with fresh salad and cheese or other in a fresh roll.
There are a couple of better noticed eateries in the village, but they pale in comparison to Ffres which is a small unit located next to the Pelican pub about halfway down the main village road.
Recently Will, the owner, has introduced Man vs Food style challenge meals, which are already talked about locally.
At the time of writing the double hench burger stack challenge and 666 fiery challenge are the main ones.
With this quality and enthusiasm, it won't be long before Ffres outgrows it's current small shop as more people discover this much welcomed injection of fun and excitement into the local foody scene.

“Don't judge this shop on exterior!!”
Reviewed 6 March 2014 via mobile

I've lived in Wales for 6 months and visit Emlyn twice a month for a good nosy, walked past this cafe loads of times and never looked at it!!
My wife got a recommendation from a work colleague to try Ffres, glad that she did!!
We went in on a cold Thursday afternoon to be greeted by owner/ chef (full of tattoos) and what a nice chap!!
He took our order, a blue cheese and bacon beef burger and a cheddar cheese and bacon beef burger, (there was 25+ burgers to choose from) and our 2 yr old had chicken goujons, we had 2 lattes and a juice for our son.... £17.50!
BARGAIN AND WELL PREPARED AND PRESENTED FOOD, me and ALL my family shall return... Superb fresh burgers using local welsh black beef & lamb !!
