Went here with my girlfriend for a few drinks on their outside deck. The drinks were good, but the view is what makes this place special. I didn't eat there so I'm not sure about the food.

Stopped here twice for some excellent Norfolk-brewed beer on the deck over looking the Onancock waterfront and creek. Service was friendly and prompt. Didn't try any food.

If you like crab cakes, you will love the ones served at Mallards. Oh and if they have mushroom soup - don't miss it - loaded with portobello mushrooms and a splash of sherry it is Heaven in a cup. The coleslaw had a kick from a dash of horseradish - a perfect complement to the crab cake - my advice....ditch the bun and savor the crab. Our table had a beautiful water view. The service was great and the old store is wonderful to see. Be sure to visit Mallards and then walk around the town to look at the lovely homes and churches - you won't be disappointed!

Pretty setting by the water but judging by the signs outside, we didn't know what to expect. Inside was Spartan and the setting very informal... but locals kept drifting in, which was a good sign. The crabcake was pretty basic: served on a roll with cocktail (or tartar) sauce, chips and--unless I experience otherwise--the world's best coleslaw! (I must agree with EmileKB!). My wife enjoyed her Tomato and Mozzarella sandwich, which she characterized as "very good.". The waiter was attentive, unpretentious and a nice guy. We'll stop there again next time we're in the neighborhood.

This is a beautiful location in Onancock, right on the dock. The food is great and the service, too. The Morrisons are a wonderful family. This past week we enjoyed the Tale of Two Chef's Night which was held at the Inn and Garden Cafe. The musical chef, Johnny Mo of Mallards got together with Ted Cathey (also a musician), the chef at the Inn and Garden Cafe for a night of food and music. It was a fun time with great food and great music.
