Spent 1 night at this hotel while on a vacation trip. Very conveniently located along the TCH. Check-in was expeditious, our room was extra-large, clean and very quiet considering the proximity of the highway. Only negative point I can bring up regards the restaurant which I rate as average especially the fact they charge me 5.99 for a baked potato with the trimmings on top of a 28.99 steak dinner special.

No complaints whatsoever. Stayed here on a Saturday night and never heard a peep out of any other guest room; Our room was clean and full of amenities. Loved the Keurig coffee maker...nice touch! Staff are second to none, and go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable. Breakfast was 10 out of 10. wish i had gone in the restaurant for supper, but we decided to try a local place in Clarenville instead. Just minutes away from Ski White Hills, which is why we were there!

Recently had the pleasure of staying here after an exhausting day of snowboarding with my son. The pleasant and attentive staff combined with a very comfortable room made for a most enjoyable evening. Service, food and atmosphere in the dining room were top notch. No problem recommending this property.

Room Tip: upgrade to a junior suite...one bed, but the jacuzzi tub was worth it.

When I was told that I would be staying at the St. Jude Hotel in Clarenville I was not looking forward to it. A lot of reviews said that it was small run down and dated, however once I got to the hotel I was pleasantly surprised. Even though the hotel did not have a pool or a fitness room, however the amenities that they do have are done well.

The service was warm, friendly and inviting, the room was clean and confortable with a private outside door for convenient comings and goings. The bathroom was clean with lots of towels and a shower with plenty of pressure. The Beds were well made and were confortable if you like a stiff bed …even if you don’t like a stiff bed it did have a lot of bounce which is great for jumping on… or what ever over things you sick mind can come up with ;). Each bed also had 3 pillows and plenty of blankets, plus 2 spear pillows and 2 spear blankets kept in the dressers (great for building a fort). The room also had a fridge in the room and a decent flat screen TV that I was able to hook a laptop up to (this is very important to me).

The attached restaurant Dustabellas was probably the worst part of my experience at this hotel, however it was not actually that bad. The first meal there I had a stake, witch was slightly overcooked and did not have any seasoning on it at all making it a bit bland. The portions however were very reasonable as it came with your choice of side (I had a potato) and a half corn on the cob with mixed vegies. With the exception of the tasteless stake this meal was satisfying for the price that it cost. The second meal I had was a mushroom and mozza-burger, which was absolutely delicious. Over all Dustabellas was not that bad of a place to eat, especially since the hotel is on the side of the high way and not with in walking distance of a difference place. The food was good (just avoid the stake) and the service was friendly and pretty… can’t ask for much more.

Over all the St. Jude Hotel is a good place to pull off the high way and rest your head.

Hotel is very outdated. Stains on the carpet, blood stains on the sheets, bugs in the ac unit. Wrinkly, stained blankets. No fridge in the room and none available. No gym, everything about this hotel is out dated by about 20 Years or more!!! The only new thing was the flat screen tv whose reception was very snowy.

Room Tip: Don't stay here if you have a choice

We stayed here overnight a couple of weeks ago when we were stranded on the TCH because of a traffic accident. We were fortunate to get a room because so many were looking at the time, but it was a very nice quiet room, clean and comfortable.
We also enjoyed a lovely breakfast in their dining room next morning, where the service was a little slow but very professional, and the food was excellent.
The hotel is fairly priced in the moderate range, and overall the experience was very good.
A few observations, the coffee maker is too small, only does one cup, and the elevator is small as well as slow....not much by way of criticism really.
If in Clarenville, we recommend this hotel. You won't be disappointed.

Room Tip: if overnighting, I recommend ground floor on back, where you are sheltered from the noise of trucks...

stayed here on business..staff are friendly and we ate in the diner which served good food with really friendly and helpful staff (as long as you dont stay past 9pm -). Rooms though are very tired and smell of smoke...beds look quite old and are not very comfortable, the overall feeling is a bit desolate. There in nothing around the "hotel" so you really must have a car. Ok for a night but would not like to stay any longer.
