I stayed here with 3 friends on my first trip to Newfoundland. It was also a first night in Newfoundland, and because of this stay, we experience Newfoundland hospitality from our very arrival to the rock! When we called ahead of time to ask about the hostel we were told that the hostel was closed, but the man offered to open it up for us having known we were coming. The hostel being in an old hospital is very unique. They have converted the building to quite a community centre including a library, a physiotherapy office, and multiple organizations' offices. When the man let us in he gave us a thorough tour of the centre, showing us old equipment from the hospital such as the old x-ray machine. They are working on creating a museum in the centre as well. The hostel was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed. I hope to return to Gros Morne National Park one day and there is my definite choice of lodging!
