Past Milkas supermarket at end of street next to the canal. Superb quality and good portions. Katie, Jacinto & Susie run it. Grouper melts in mouth, spring rolls & shrimp excellent and tuna to die for. Good chocolate cake. We kept going back and would have eaten their more if they were not closed! Reservations are a must. There is both outdoor and indoor seating.

We sat by the canal lateish on a Friday evening in late April and felt like we were in one of the only 3 places on the island where people were wide awake. Breeze was lovely (this is the tropics) and so were the appetizers - a lovely Asian sauteed calimari as well as those irrestible grouper bites. We eavesdropped on conversations among locals at the bar that answered most of our questions about Culebra's future. I loved the exotic Island mash (potato, cassava and two other root veggies i had never heard of and cannot now recall mixed with a bit of cream and butter) but found my coconut tamarind shrimp unmemorable - my husband did not enjoy either his fish or his mash. But we played with the stray cats and listened to the music drifting across the canal from Mamacita's and had no regrets.

We were surprised to see the quality of food and service at this restaurant because upon walking through the front door, I thought I was going to a trailer for dinner. We sat on the back patio right on the canal and watched fish and birds go by as we enjoyed a dinner with new friends we met at our hotel. My skirt steak and my husand's mahi were perfectly presented, seasoned, and tasted even better. The prices were very fair and I would recommend this place to anyone.

Susie's is da best! It's funky not fancy, and sits waterside on a quiet side of Culebra's harbor. The service is friendly, the food is special and generous, and features a lot of tropical flavorings and style. Susie sometimes emerges from her busy kitchen to make sure her clientele is delighted. Culebra totally lacks fancy restaurants, but eating at Susie's feels like a huge treat. It has a pretty bar too that is half inside, half outside.
