“Perfect Day in Paradise!”
Reviewed 3 November 2012

From everything I had read on Tripadvisor, I knew I really wanted to take my family of five to Flamenco Beach during our one-week stay on the main island of Puerto Rico. The big decision was whether to take the ferry or to fly from Fajardo. I opted to fly and, although this increased the cost of the day considerably, am extremely glad we did, as the result was one of the most memorable vacation days of our lives! I booked our flight on Flamenco Air five days before when I was reasonably sure we would have good weather. The airport was easy to find from our condo in San Juan, following directions on the Internet. We had the first flight of the morning and called for a taxi when we arrived at the airport on Culebra. The best part of the day was being the first people to arrive on Flamenco Beach, so we had it to ourselves for almost two hours! We walked from one end to another, taking many wonderful photos. It is truly beautiful! We rented chairs and umbrellas when they became available around 10 am and shortly thereafter many people started arriving (from the ferry). The people provided a different atmosphere as we all enjoyed the beach. There was plenty of room for everyone. The water was warm, clear and perfect for snorkeling. We brought along a couple pairs of goggles and masks which we shared, so did not have to bother trying to rent these on the island. I am so glad we did this! Good food was available at the entrance. In the afternoon our teenage children took the trail to Rosario Beach and enjoyed snorkeling there as well--they had this beach to themselves for most of the time. At mid-afternoon our taxi driver returned to take us back to the airport. We had a fantastic meal at La Estacion in Fajardo, ending our perfect day in paradise. This day was definitely the highlight of our Puerto Rican vacation!

When we first got to the beach, we were totally alone. Its so pretty. There are campsites all along the beach that looked perfect for a group.

“Stunning”
Reviewed 29 October 2012

Flamenco beach is absolutely gorgeous! The sand is soft and white and the water is bright blue and very calm. It was perfect for swimming and easy to walk out into the water. The area attracts many tourists and locals alike. An area a short walk from the beach offers food and drinks as well as some picnic tables for eating. Restrooms are very limited and seemed rather primitive, even though they were flush toilets. Overall, the stunning beach is well worth a visit.

“Dont listen to the haters”
Reviewed 28 October 2012

I am fascinated as I read through the negative reviews about Flamenco Beach. Not one had anything negative to say about the beach itself. You DO NOT give a negative review of a destination based on your experience with the transportation that got you there. Additionally, there are a few negative reviews based on the limited infrastructure at the beach. HELLO! It's a REMOTE CARIBBEAN ISLAND!!!! Nobody ever told you to haul your 300lb body three hours away from your hotel and the comfort of your 24 hour buffet and air conditioning. I do not like to sound condescending but I am just fascinated by the ignorance and negativity of people. I have been to 60 countries and Flamenco is among the most beautiful places on earth. It is not for the out of shape, non-adventurous people who hate sand, saltwater and heat.

“Pretty beach, but crowded”
Reviewed 24 October 2012 via mobile

We visited most of the beaches on Vieques and Culebra and found this beach to be the most crowded of all. There are far more beaches to explore on Vieques and it's easier there to have a beach to yourself. There is a cool trail that starts behind the camping area off Flamenco and goes on top of the hill where you can see much of the island. Remember to not enter the UXO areas.
