We just left Casita Tropical and my mom had tears in her eyes. She didn't want to come back! The owner, Molly, was amazing and so helpful! Our room was perfect for Mom and I.... quaint with all the essentials! It was a TRUE Island experience. Molly took us snorkeling to see the turtles and some of the best coral reefs around the island. She showed us the best spots to dine.. and beach. She introduced us to her wonderful island friends and made us feel like locals! She introduced us to her friend Greg... the Night Rider (just ask.. he'll probably take you too) IT WAS GREAT!! El Eden, Dinghy Dock and Zaco's Taco's are the best! Plus Tamarindo and Flamenco Beach are amazing. We are planning on making this a yearly trip!
My advice is: Bring BUG SPRAY! This is not indicative of Casita Tropical BUT the whole Island. We got eaten alive our first night there. Mosquitoes, I mean. Also, PACK LIGHT! We brought WAYYYYYY to much crap! You really only need beach stuff and very casual dress. Bring a few swimsuits and beach cover ups! Snorkeling Gear if you have it but Molly has everything so don't worry if you don't.
