“Our son had a ball”
Reviewed 24 March 2014 via mobile

Although I don't think much has changed since visiting as a kid myself our son had a ball being a typical boy loving fireman Sam and fire trucks he was in his element and excited to see what was next. Considering they only ask for a gold coin donation it's worth dropping them a note god knows how costly it would be to maintain the vehicles that they have in there which some of are used in our local parades. Thank you for a cheap day out with the family :)

“Great educational trip. All kids should go.”
Reviewed 30 January 2014 via mobile

Very worthwhile morning. We went ages ago and it really stayed with my kids. There are some parts that really scared them into being safer around the house. We went as part of a group so were given a ride on the engine. They run school excursion groups too. What a good idea for infants teachers.

“Great museum for all ages”
Reviewed 27 December 2013

Have to confess that when it was suggested visiting this museum I was less than enthusiastic!
However it was a a terrific outing for all the family.
Staff were very enthusiastic and knowledgable, lots of marvellous old fire engines, heaps to do for children of all ages, cases full of interesting artefacts, large exhibit on keeping the home safe - and even a ride in a fire truck.
I thoroughly recommend this little known museum to everyone from the fire engine enthusiasts to even the mildly curious.
