“Romantic, beautiful, wonderful... & THE best service in the USA!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2014

Seriously- if you are looking for a romantic getaway in VA wine country THIS IS THE PLACE! We just had a glorious 2-night stay; we had a wonderful butler of our very own(!), who brought hot beignets and French Press Coffee to our "Weaver's Cottage" at 5am before our hot air balloon ride! The down pillows and comforters were glorious! Our patio was SO delightful! The strawberry shortcakes at night... Tea Forte & Voss water & local, handmade soaps & plush robes & slippers & L'Occitane toiletries... A delicious dinner at their Vintage Restaurant and chairs to sit in around the pretty fire pits outside... But the BEST thing was the lovely, lovely service, which made it all marvelous! We are in the hospitality business and professional "road warriors" who have stayed in lodging at ALL levels across the USA, from Super 8s to the Waldorf=Astoria and everything in between, and The Inn at Willow Grove had the best service we have EVER experienced in the USA! Can't wait to be able to return!

Room Tip: We had the "Weaver's Cottage", and loved it!

We had driven by the Inn at Willow Grove for years and never stopped in. Ended up staying here for a birthday retreat and loved it. Beautiful setting and wonderfully restful. There are guest rooms in the main building as well as out buildings. They can accommodate almost any space you would want. The beignets and coffee that arrive at your prescribed time are an outstanding treat (and the best you will have this side of New Orleans). We enjoyed ours on our porch in rocking chairs listening to the birds. The best part is you feel as though the Inn is undiscovered. Other than a wedding weekend, this is a jewel tucked into a beautiful wooded site in Orange County.

Happy Birthday! We’re so happy you enjoyed a special getaway to celebrate the occasion. Even during a wedding on our property, guests can enjoy a peaceful, romantic escape in our Overlook Cottage, which enjoys a quiet spot up the hill from the manor house away from the hubbub of a wedding party. Thank you for posting!

Granted this is the only B&B I've stayed in in Virginia, but this place is such a slice of heaven, I will never go anywhere else. We've enjoyed in the dead of winter and the height of summer, and both trips have been amazing. We sought the Inn trying to find a little spot for a stay-cation, and just fell in love. The restaurant is delicious, there are wineries near by to enjoy, we've also just sat on our patio and enjoyed wine we brought from home. It is cozy, the staff is incredible, and every time I go I never want to come home. It's the perfect romantic weekend away from DC!

Room Tip: There is no bad room.

Thank you for posting your kind words. We’re delighted you enjoyed a relaxing, romantic “staycation” close to home. As a small luxury boutique hotel, we offer all of the amenities of a larger hotel but with the intimacy and personal service that you would typically find in a B&B. It’s the best of both worlds, as you discovered during your stay! We look forward to welcoming you back!

My husband and I travel back and forth from North Carolina to New Jersey with our Cocker Spaniel several times during the year. We discovered The Inn At Willow Grove last year and knew we would be back. We booked one of their pet friendly suites called "The Overlook" at the top of the hill. The view from these suites are breathtaking! The suite was so comfortable and the bed will give you the best night sleep you could possibly imagine when traveling! They certainly made us and our Cocker feel at home . There were walking trails for me to take our dog for a walk down to the barn where they have wedding receptions. We really enjoyed the time we spent just sitting on the back and front porch with our dog enjoying the view. We asked if we could get a dog sitter and it was no problem. We knew we wanted to spend an extra day enjoying The Inn. We had dinner at the Inns "Vintage Restaurant" which made our stay even more special. The food and service made this restaurant a first class experience. I haven't stopped thinking about the delicious dinner and can't wait to go back. A special treat was the dessert and tea waiting in our suite when we got back from dinner along with treats for our dog ! The next morning we woke up to hot coffee and homemade beignets brought to our suite by our butler Phillip . The Inn At Willow Grove makes traveling with your pet a special experience! Can't wait to go back!

At The Inn at Willow Grove, we believe that furry family members should enjoy unparalleled luxury too! All pooches enjoy the finest in luxury amenities, including hypoallergenic, organic dog beds (with custom Sunbrella covers that match each of the Overlook Suites’ décor of course!) House-made organic dog treats from our culinary team, gorgeous grounds in which to enjoy fresh air and spectacular views, and of course a Butler on-hand to stay and play while mom and dad enjoy their getaway. What more could a pooch ask for? We’re so happy that you enjoyed your stay and can’t wait to see you and your cocker soon!

My wife and I spent our 48th anniversary at the Inn. We stayed in the Carriage House West. My wife says it was the most comfortable bed she has ever slept in. Whats not to like: heated bathroom floor, heated towel rack, a shower big enough to party in, tea and sweets served at even bed turn-down, coffee/tee and beignets brought to your room by your butler in the morning.
Beautiful, manicured grounds with walking paths. The entire staff makes you feel like you are their most important guest.

We do have incredible beds! It all starts with the mattress (all-natural, organic, hypo-allergenic pillow-top Natura mattresses) and just gets better with the finest Anichini eider down and 600-thread count linens. The beds are so soft and luxurious you just sink right in and never want to get out… Thank you for sharing. Congratulations on your 48th anniversary, and please join us again soon!

Most things were booked over the holiday weekend, so I decided to give it a try. Even though the rate was in the higher range and we had seen the website, we were still not prepared for the absolutely sumptuous room (the master suite was offered to us at no additional charge a few days before we arrived), delicious dinner, and gorgeous grounds! We got in about 6 pm and spent the rest of the night eating, relaxing by the firepit, taking an luxurious bath and sitting out on the private balcony. We wanted to take in all of it. Amazing. The charming owner was even on hand to suggest a better table outside for dinner! From the dessert left in our room to the beignets in the morning; all was thoughtfully prepared for us. We've stayed many places, including the local Boar's Head, top Metropolitan hotels and country BNBs...and the Inn at Willow Grove takes the best of them and brings it to the next level, with each luxurious touch. Therefore, our new area favorite... easily. You will not regret your decision to stay at this beautiful inn, regardless of the room you choose! -Melissa F.

It gives us such joy to see our guests’ reactions to our property upon arrival. Images just don’t do it justice! We’re delighted to be considered above and beyond Boar’s Head Inn and other luxury properties around the world. That is a high compliment indeed! Thank you for sharing, and we hope to welcome you back soon!

We have stayed at The Inn at Willow Grove twice in the main building; both visits were very comfortable and enjoyable. Bedrooms have been nicely modernized, with particularly attractive baths, but retain a historic ambience. Our suite included a small sitting area; particularly helpful for enjoying the delicious breakfasts (the complimentary breakfast beignets are light--quite delicious). The Inn includes a nice ground level bar (particularly inviting on cool nights when the fire is lit) as well as dining areas on two levels of the main house. Our many dinners and a few brunches were tasty and interesting without being overly adventurous. The grounds of the inn are also attractive; one set of patios has outdoor fire pits that keep you staying outside to listen to the tree frogs
All in all, highly recommended as a stop in this lovely part of the Virginia countryside.

Thank you for your kind words. If you enjoyed your accommodations in the Manor House for their luxurious décor and historic character, we recommend you try the Schoolhouse during your next stay. This lovely cottage is on the Virginia and National Historic Register as the oldest schoolhouse in Orange County, and it has been lovingly renovated to feature our signature “urban meets plantation” style while showcasing original architectural details that give the cottage incredible character and charm. We’re delighted that you enjoyed your two stays with us and thank you for posting!
