“Really real food”
Reviewed 14 August 2014

This place is an oasis--a miracle, almost, in a state that probably boasts more Hardee's and Tastee-Freezes than any other. Not that I've never happily partaken in either of those.... But the food here is excellent. It is as fresh as you can get in this part of the world, and the flavors and influences are as far-reaching as the Mediterranean and Thailand. I don't have much to add to all the other raves--except that I've never seen anyone put food together so fast. I hadn't even finished placing the whole order and two of the salads and one sandwich were already MADE. That guy has lightning for hands. They know just where to stop adding ingredients to make the perfect combination of flavors and they have an excellent (and light) touch when it comes to salad dressings and spreads--two areas where many eating establishments drop the ball.

They seem to be doing a great business so far. Hopefully their success will enable them to expand a little and have longer hours, eventually. The times they are currently open are limited because they also cater in the hours when the shop is closed. But what I really hope is that this sort of place will catch on with the locals in more rural areas all over the U.S.A. It is sorely needed.

“Don't forget...Real Food caters!”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Not only does Real Food have extremely good lunches, they cater for their "real" job. This couple is imaginative and inventive. I get lunch there as often as possible, and know people who have had them cater their events, and they were thrilled. Nice to have a spot like this in Orange, of all places.

“Unusual and Delicious!”
Reviewed 17 July 2014

After reading such positive reviews, we just had to try Real Food after visiting nearby Montpelier. The reviews are spot on. Had the baked ham, corn relish, cojita cheese with cilantro mayo sandwich and the Thai coconut chicken soup - both were excellent. Location is pretty nondescript, nestled between the railroad tracks and Rt.15. They are only open for lunch, so plan accordingly. Highly recommend!

“Worth going out of your way”
Reviewed 18 June 2014

I go to Real Food any time I am within range. For the last two times, I have ordered one of nearly every soup, salad, sandwich, and entree on the menu and cart it back to the Washington, DC area to reluctantly share. The food is fresh, imaginative, and delicious. The prices are reasonable.

“Consistently fresh and imaginative”
Reviewed 30 May 2014 via mobile

I eat here as often as I can as the food is first rate and also well priced. Casual soups, salads and sandwiches are all well thought out with local ingredients. Fast, fun and delicious, you can't go wrong!
