“Great place in a wonderful location”
Reviewed 23 March 2014 via mobile

We attended a wedding a the Inn at Willow Grove. The holiday inn express was just a mile away. Great views, nice clean rooms with a friendly staff. We skipped breakfast so I couldn't comment on that. We visited Monticello the morning we arrived and would definitely stay here again.

We were invited to attend a family wedding in Orange and although it was being held at a lovely place with lodging, it wasn't quite appropriate for the kiddos in our party. We chose the Holiday Inn Express as it was close to town and very close to the wedding venue. I'd like to say we were pleasantly surprised but all of the reviews I read said the Holiday Inn Express would be great. It was. Very clean and modern, a friendly staff and a great complimentary breakfast. If you are in the Orange area and need lodging, I would highly recommend this place!

While we weren't initially expecting much when we book the room here, every aspect of our stay was excellent -- very helpful staff, clean and well decorated rooms and a wonderful view of Blue Ridge Mountains too boot. Will definitely stay here next time in the area

Room Tip: ask for a room facing west towards the mountains

We stayed here for 1 night after visiting Shanandoah national park. The stay was fine, nothing above average, rooms were nice and big, bed was comfy and it was quiet and the setting/view in the morning was very beautiful. Unfortunately there is nothing in the area really so we just had fast food for dinner. Breakfast was free and pretty good, some hot options and there is always coffee to help yourself to at any time. Staff were fine. No problems would recommend it if you have to stay in that area but wouldn't re-visit it ourselves.

Our stay here was great. The room was large, clean, and comfortable. As others have said, the backyard view is phenomenal. The hotel was quiet and had everything we needed. The breakfast had many options.

Room Tip: Our first room faced the back and the beautiful view, so we kept the shades open as much as possible...

This is the nicest Holiday Inn Express I have ever stayed at. It sets the standard for every one I'll stay at in the future. I stay at a lot of IHG hotels and expect my future reviews to suggest that they visit this site to learn to improve.

I was offered a choice of rooms when I arrived as to whether I preferred a room with a view or one of other available amenities. I received a complimentary upgrade as a platinum member to a suite which my wife enjoyed but we had to give up the view of the Blue Mountains except for a hall window and the wonderful back patio.

The breakfast was a notch above the typical HI breakfast. There was an omelet with a litter spice in it that was very good.. The attendant was very responsive to any reduction in anything being served.

I can not praise this location enough. It's even pretty cheap to stay at. It's convenient to Monticello, Montpelier and Skyline Drive. If you have any reason to be in this area, stay here.

Room Tip: The staff was very helpful in discussing the different amenities of the available rooms. There are...

I am so happy we stayed here. The hotel is situated a bit outside of Orange. We missed the road leading to it at first, but once we found our way, check in was easy and the lady who took care of us was very friendly and welcoming.

We were given a corner king bed room with two windows. The room was spotless, bright, spacious, and inviting. There was a refrigerator and microwave in the room and I was pleased to see that the coffeemaker was not in the bathroom. The room was nicely furnished and decorated. The bathroom was roomy and there was good water pressure. Everything looked new and well maintained. There was a complimentary breakfast offered. The breakfast options were typical of HIE and they were efficiently replinished as needed.

The best part of this property, however, is the magnificent unobstructed view. This hotel is built on a hilltop. From the rooms facing the back, the breakfast area, the pool, and patio, and the many windows on the upper floors, a visitor is treated to the sight of gently rolling hills with the Blue Ridge Mountains in the background. I could not stop looking at the view until it got too dark to see. The next morning, I got up extra early to look some more.
