My wife and I had a wonderful time at the Holladay House. The location is perfect for seeing the mountains of Virginia and Charlottesville. The breakfast is amazing. The home is beautiful and Sharon is an outstanding hostess! We will definitely be back.

Thank you for such a lovely review! We enjoyed having you both here as well! And you're right - when we say our location is in Central VA, we mean CENTRAL Virginia! Looking forward to your return stay -- and let us know if we might help you plan out an itinerary :)

The Holladay House has easy access parking behind the B&B. Our room the Ivy Suite was one of two rooms located at the rear of the building. The room did not have a view but the amenities more than made up for that. The B&B is within walking distance to the visitor’s center located in the train station, and several restaurants. We picked up a self-guided walking tour of the historical area. In addition, James Madison’s home, Montpelier is just a short drive as well as Jefferson’s Monticello. Our stay included a hot air balloon ride, our first that was very exciting. Of the four B&B’s we have stayed so far in Virginia, the breakfast and seating arrangement were our favorite. Overall, we had a very enjoyable 42nd wedding anniversary experience. Thank you Sharon!

Room Tip: The free WiFi had an excellent signal in the Ivy Suite and a 50 inch TV.

Dear 42nd-ers:
You're welcome! We loved having you here for such a special occasion!

The fall foliage hot air balloon ride must have been stunning! Did you know the hot air balloon rides run all year long - including the winter? It's actually not that cold up there during that time frame and is a fantastic time to really see the rolling landscape without barriers :)

As for our breakfast seating - we're happy to have both a large table and two-person tables so folks may choose how conversational they want to be in the morning - especially before their first cup of coffee!

Happy Anniversary!

The first week of October I returned home for my 30th HS reunion. We came in later from CHO and Sharon was wonderful and waited to check us in. The feel of the BB/Inn is not just historic but a feeling of staying at home. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the breakfasts were amazing. I had a special diet Sharon made my meal to my needs while still making me not feel like I was having something different from everyone else. Yes! I love the little chocolates because I can only have a little pieces of chocolate. The rooms were wonderful. I loved the side porch and the location on Main Street. Enjoy the Silk Mill Grille when you visit as well, you can walk there. The Authentic Mexican restaurant, you can walk there. It is close to Montpelier and Wineries as well. Historic and small town with uptown class.

Thanks Sharon.

Room Tip: There is no swimming pool or fitness center so N/A on those service items. However, you have wonder...

We are always happy to accommodate dietary needs and we try our best to "match" it to what others are having for breakfast. We do not want anyone to feel "left out", as the reviewer stated. It's a challenge we love tackling! Thanks so much for staying with us on your return back home!

We were on a biking tour and stayed at Holladay House. We felt so welcomed by the owner. Sharon went out of her way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The room was nice, clean and comfortable. The non-stop cookies and chocolate didn't hurt either. She also gave great recommendations for dinner.

We get a good amount of bicyclists that stay with us -- our Main Street location is ideal as a launching point for any number of loops that take you through the rolling hills of the gorgeous countryside! When you return, we've got an indoor place to stow your bikes and yummy carbs (aka: cookies) to help you power up for the next day! Thanks for staying with us!!

We were in the area to visit Montpelier, James Madison's home (only a short distance away), and delighted to be able to stay in this historic house in the blue room's four poster with bed curtains! Sharon was extremely accommodating to allow for our very late check in. She even brought a tea tray of chamomile tea to our room. Don't miss the in-room DVD explaining historic Orange. The breakfast was creative, local fare and very filling... available in an elegant dining room with silver service and crisp white linen. Sharon is the perfect hostess. We would definitely come back for a longer stay.

My wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic B&B. The house is wonderful and steep in historical value, Sharon was a great host, catering to our need above and beyond what we expected. The rooms are quiet, clean and very comfortable, the wifi is strong and the breakfast.. not enough can be said about the breakfast, absolutely fantastic. this is a place you should not miss. we had a wonder experience here and will be sure to return any time we are in this area again.

From the moment we walked into Holladay House, we fell in love with the place, and the Innkeeper, Sharon! The house is tastefully filled with antiques, the room was perfection, including our own private covered patio. We were pleasantly surprised with the 2 course breakfast (the best Blueberry Crumble - all homemade - we've ever had, and the quiche truly superb). Sharon made our stay so much more enjoyable just by the friendly energy she possesses and the interest she showed in us! If you ever get to Orange, VA, this is a must.
