My wife and I have been staying at the Holladay House for over 10 years. The innkeepers, Sharon and Sam are absolutely unbelievably gracious. They operate an Inn that is second to NONE! Sam is an excellent chef and the breakfasts he (and....yes with Sharon's help) prepare each morning is a gourmand's delight. Only fresh, healthy and wherever possible, locally grown ingredients are used. His beautiful wife, Sharon, makes sure that their Inn is immaculate and she does everything possible to make one's stay a spectacular lifetime memory. Over the many years that we have known Sharon and Sam, they have become like a daughter and son to us,

Over the years, my wife and I have stayed at about twenty different B&Bs up and down the east coast. This weekend stay unquestionably ranks among the top 2 or 3. Not only is the house itself a beautiful, antique-laden, genuinely authentic Inn, overflowing with history, but the Inn-keepers themselves are just a delightful, warm, unintrusive couple, that clearly have a real love for both the home and the town itself. The food is equally outstanding. We loved our trip!

Highly recommend. My boyfriend and I enjoyed a lovely evening at the clean, beautiful, and luxurious Ivy Suite. Owners Sharon & Sam are friendly and generous, and shared restaurant recommendations and directions and other help. Breakfast was deluxe, gourmet, and the best I've had in a long time - and I eat classy DC brunches on a regular basis. Free wine tasting passes are included in the B&B, and Sharon and Sam knowledgeably directed us towards the wineries with the vintage of wine we requested. A/C was noisy at night, but other than that, five stars.

We stayed here on a weekend getaway from Raleigh. Our trip brought us to Orange Virginia, since all the B&Bs in Charlottesville we're booked. When we arrived Sam warmly greeted us and gave us a through tour of the house. Sam was very warm and inviting and we felt comfortable right from the start. We stayed in the Blue room and the accomodations were top notch. Sam recommended Sparks on Elmwood for dinner and made a reservation for us. After dinner we sat out on the porch and enjoyed the calm Summer night in their very comfortable rocking chairs. We met Sharon in the morning as she was serving breakfast. The reviews on TripAdvisor or dead on, the food at breakfast is fantastic. We have stayed in many B&Bs over the years and this was one of the best. A delicious blueberry crisp and an immaculate quiche. They have a library in the parlor which had some great books about the general area and a selection of DVDs.. The area is consistent with period 1800s structure and offers a quaint downtown feel. We felt like we'd come back to Orange if only to stay at this exceptional B&B again. Sam and Sharon are excellent inn keepers and made us feel valued and welcome.

Sharon was a very gracious proprietor! The food was the best I've had at any B&B to date (and I have stayed at several). I especially appreciated that she served locally-available produce and foods. The rooms were very spacious, comfortable, well-lit, and thank goodness, not full of chachkees (sp?). I enjoyed the natural hygiene products available in the bathroom. The attention to detail is pleasantly noticeable. My friends and I filled the upstairs while in town for a friend's wedding and we all enjoyed our stay at the Holladay House very much. It is conveniently located to a nice restaurant and shopping. I will definitely try to get a reservation here the next time I visit Orange.

Fabulous service, excellent accommodations, and friendly innkeepers made this experience delightful. The town of Orange, VA has it's own surprises and is centrally located for day trips around the area on winding roads through lush forest to sample wonderful Virginia wines, visit quaint towns, enjoy world class cuisine, and immerse yourself in the early history of America.

This is a comfortable, pleasant B & B with excellent food and fantastic service. The breakfasts were superb: excellent variety, thoughtful preparation, excellent inclusion of local produce and overall fantastic quality. Sharon (the innkeeper) is extraordinarily helpful and willing to provide individual service to all the guests. The inn has a great location, close to James Madison's Montpelier and at the heart of Virginia wine and horse country.
