We found this place in 2008 but only had time for one night. Always promised ourselves a return stay. December 2012 saw us celebrating a special occasion so C Bargara was on the itinerary. It is still a magical place! The apartments look right out over the water, beautiful views, great deep balcony to sit outside and enjoy them, and the sounds of the waves gently lapping each night.
On arrival we found we had an upgrade to one of the Penthouses - thank you so much Kathy and Rob for such a treat! Brisbane was experiencing a heatwave - our temps were 30 degrees but the cooling breeze made things bearable. You can open these apartments right up to get airflow from back to front if you don't like air con. There is a security door so that even if you are sitting on the front deck you know that no one can wander in.
Great pool - almost like a warm bath when we were there. Beds were really comfortable, shower, spa bath, twin vanities, huge mirror, lots of space for hanging clothes etc. Smeg oven & appliances, good sized fridge, ceramic hob, twin sinks, microwave etc. Fisher & Paykel washing machine and dryer all fine. Lots of platters, glasses, extras that you often don't see in these apartments. Good selection of pots and pans - no good sharp knives though but that must be hard to keep up with. We had a rooftop as well. There was a fairly decrepit BBQ up there so we gave that a wide berth, but the area was huge as well. Nice place for a quiet drink or sitting in the sun.
No screens so had to use air con at night - didn't fancy competing with the flying insects while trying to sleep!! These are very spacious apartments. The occupancy was full while we were there but heard very little noise from other units. The NE aspect gives some spectacular sunrises. The road in front is not busy. Two rubbish trucks one day was the only heavy traffic we saw!
Bottle store, fish'nchip takeaways just along the road (walking distance), two supermarkets really close (Aldi and Woolworths) as was the village with several really great restaurants for eating out. Bundaberg is not too far to drive into - bigger malls and shopping areas in there.
We stayed for a week this time and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxation and time out before Christmas. You could be as busy or as laid back as you wish here - the choice is yours!
