We found this place in 2008 but only had time for one night. Always promised ourselves a return stay. December 2012 saw us celebrating a special occasion so C Bargara was on the itinerary. It is still a magical place! The apartments look right out over the water, beautiful views, great deep balcony to sit outside and enjoy them, and the sounds of the waves gently lapping each night.

On arrival we found we had an upgrade to one of the Penthouses - thank you so much Kathy and Rob for such a treat! Brisbane was experiencing a heatwave - our temps were 30 degrees but the cooling breeze made things bearable. You can open these apartments right up to get airflow from back to front if you don't like air con. There is a security door so that even if you are sitting on the front deck you know that no one can wander in.

Great pool - almost like a warm bath when we were there. Beds were really comfortable, shower, spa bath, twin vanities, huge mirror, lots of space for hanging clothes etc. Smeg oven & appliances, good sized fridge, ceramic hob, twin sinks, microwave etc. Fisher & Paykel washing machine and dryer all fine. Lots of platters, glasses, extras that you often don't see in these apartments. Good selection of pots and pans - no good sharp knives though but that must be hard to keep up with. We had a rooftop as well. There was a fairly decrepit BBQ up there so we gave that a wide berth, but the area was huge as well. Nice place for a quiet drink or sitting in the sun.

No screens so had to use air con at night - didn't fancy competing with the flying insects while trying to sleep!! These are very spacious apartments. The occupancy was full while we were there but heard very little noise from other units. The NE aspect gives some spectacular sunrises. The road in front is not busy. Two rubbish trucks one day was the only heavy traffic we saw!

Bottle store, fish'nchip takeaways just along the road (walking distance), two supermarkets really close (Aldi and Woolworths) as was the village with several really great restaurants for eating out. Bundaberg is not too far to drive into - bigger malls and shopping areas in there.

We stayed for a week this time and thoroughly enjoyed the relaxation and time out before Christmas. You could be as busy or as laid back as you wish here - the choice is yours!

We stayed in the 3 bed super penthouse the week before Christmas. The unit was great for us and our two kids. The place was extremely well kitted out (better stuff than I have at home!) and was very clean with near new sheets, towels etc. The managers were very friendly and left us to our own devices. We had fabulous views and our 4 year old insisted on eating every meal on the balcony so we could watch the waves. Although the units must have been nearly full, we weren't bothered by any noise whatsoever. Pool and paddling pool for toddlers was also wonderful, when we weren't down at any of the fantastic kids beaches. Only downside was that the beaches weren't quite within walking distance for our 4 year old and 18 month old - older kids would be fine though. Don't miss feeding the fish at the Basin, paddling at the creek near Kelly's beach and turtle watching at mon repos. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: All the rooms have great views - I'm not sure you could pick between them.

Happy New Year and thank you for taking the time to post a review. You are correct when you say "all the rooms have great views". There is an oceanview from every apartment in the complex - from 1st to 5th level. The super penthouses do live up to their names. The extra space in a penthouse, with its exclusive access rooftop, is always popular for families. The toddlers wadding pool is also a great feature for the little ones. We look forward to seeing you this year!

Thank you Kathy and Rob for making our stay such a pleasure at your premises. We really appreciate the trouble you went to find us all the little extras we were looking for and helpful tips of things to do in the area. The rooms are really spacious, comfortable and clean too. We'll be back for sure.

Thanks
Kristen & Don

I stayed in this complex last weekend for 2 nights. My husband, sister and brother-in-law (4 adults) booked into a 2 bedroom penthouse apartment and all I can say is WOW! We wished we were there for a month. Apartment 505 is spectacular - the views say it all. Plenty of room for 4 adults but would also suit a family. What was great about this place was another small room with a fold out couch. You could have slept another few people in this room if you needed.

The apartment was very clean when we arrived. There is a full kitchen so easy to cook plus a rooftop balcony with a BBQ. It's the littlest things that count on holidays, platters for nibbles, good wine glasses, full oven, BBQ etc. The rooftop is ideal for entertaining or relaxing with friends and family - you can park yourself up there with a BBQ and some drinks just soaking up the sunshine and cool breeze. The apartment is also fully airconditioned but you really don't need it with such great breezes all day and night.

It is also well located to nearby coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. There is also a great second hand book store down the road (they seem to be rare these days!) A novelty for those wanting to laze by the pool with a very cheap and new(ish) book title.

The on site staff were very helpful and welcoming. The man who checked us in was friendly and we even checked out on the driveway by returning our keys! What better service - we could get on our way to drive home fast.

This apartment is also very close to the Mon Repos beach (about 6 minutes drive) and the Woolies (4 minutes) so great for tourists who are here to see the turtles.

I would highly recommend this location for short stay, long stay, groups, couples, families etc. The apartment is versatile and large, it will suit whatever your needs.

I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family and hope to visit again soon!

Room Tip: 505 is my suggestion - penthouse 2 bedroom with amazing views and full rooftop balcony.

Just returned from a 6 night stay in this excellent spacious apartment overlooking the sea at Bargara. It’s in a good central location on the esplanade and just a few minutes stroll from the cafes and shops in Bauer Street. The apartment was clean and spacious with a well fitted kitchen, 2 lounge areas, a double spa bath in the en-suite and a selection of Foxtel TV channels.
There were a couple of slight negatives though. The bedroom windows have got roller blinds which although clean and modern, allow a fair bit of the sun to filter through early in the mornings. Also there was no provision of laundry and dish washer powder or washing up liquid. Usually in a self contained apartment you get at least an initial supply of these and unless they were accidently not replaced when the apartment was serviced before our arrival, I would have happily paid a couple of dollars extra on the total cost of the stay to have these items included. The pool is described as heated but although not freezing didn’t feel much warmer than our non heated pool at home. There is no shade from the sun by the pool during the mornings, the only shade coming mid afternoon when the sun lowers over the building.
These negatives, although detailed were very minor and I would certainly consider staying here again if we ever revisit Bargara.

Hello and thank you for your review. I was pleased to be able to phone you just now and apologise regarding the lack of laundry and dishwashing products. As we discussed, we do provide an initial supply of these items...we are sorry they were not replenished. In future, please don't hesitate to ask reception for anything you feel is missing or an item you may require. If we can provide it, we will be happy to. Thank you for mentioning the pool temperature - we will check on it. We look forward to welcoming you back to 'C'.

We stayed here based on reviews, and were not disappointed. It was a unit, not just a room and it was lovely. We had a spa bath, additional TV in bedroom visible from spa, fantastic view over coastline., very comfortable. The location was great, we had drinks and dinner the Pub, very well priced, nice atmosphere and family friendly, all just a block away. Reception were very friendly, the room clean- can't ask for more really-highly recommended.
