“Overpriced”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 November 2012

We stayed overnight in our tent on one of the un-powered camp sites. The site was ok, plenty of space, but it was way overpriced. We payed $27 for one night, while I think it is not worth more then $20. The amenities are ok, nothing special.

we just spent the long weekend here in our camper trailer with the kids and had a fantastic time, the park is beautiful and set off from main road, sites are beautifully kept with litle garden beds and facilities were immaculate! staff were friendly and it was an easy commute from brisbane. my advice is book early - to get the pick of sites in the rainforest. convieniently located to attractions a great getaway for families or couples. and cheaps rates was a bonus!

Room Tip: book early :)

We arrived with our 22' caravan to a friendly welcome & efficient check in & the park is in a quiet bushland setting but that's where the good ended for us. We had prebooked & were very disappointed when directed to a full gravel site in a dip, not at all suited to a large van. We took up the offer of an alternate site which however, had an elevated concrete slab on the wrong side so had to park the van on the slab and had to use ramps to reverse up onto it. This meant we had to put our matting down on dirt. The site is very unkempt. During our 6 day stay, the Ladies ammenities block wasn't cleaned (not once), one of the toilet cubicles had no toilet paper for 3 days, the hand paper towel was not refilled and the rubbish bin in the Ladies ammenities was full to overflowing for 3 days. On our 5th day I went to the office to report all of the above & ask if they ever clean the ammenities. The girl in the office said she was only a casual, asked which site we were on & said she would pass the information on to the park manager. Later that day, the toilet rolls & hand towels had been refilled but still no cleaning done. Day 6 - still no cleaning done. This is also a pet friendly park of which we have stayed in many (we don't have a pet), however, it's a bit much when a cat comes under the door when you're sitting on the loo and a dog puts its head under the door when you're in the shower. Cabin accomodation appears to be reasonable but this park doesn't cater well at all for caravans, particularly large vans. We won't be back.

snakeandlady you stayed with us over the long weekend that has just passed, you booked a site a few days before arrival and were told upon booking that the park was near full but we could fit you in and the site was described to you as a gravel site without a concrete slab, you were appreciative and followed through with your two day booking.
On arrival we tried to accommodate your needs as you were not happy with the gravel site (as all our concrete slabs had been booked months prior) you preferred a site used by one of our unrented permanent caravans, we relocated that van to accommodate you but by your review this was still not good enough.
As to the accusations that the amenities were not cleaned during your whole stay is a complete fallacy, the amenities are cleaned daily, this includes complete chemical spray of showers, toilets and hand basins, a complete hose out, mop, rubbish removal and top up of any paper towel, toilet paper and soap.
The day you approached the office around 1pm, you spoke to a cleaner who was only hired for the long weekend. You spoke very rudely to the employee who passed on your message in tears, due to your manor in which you spoke to her. The amenities had not yet been cleaned that day as we had 11 cabins to clean between the hours of 10am – 2pm, so they were first priority. Upon the complaint I went into the amenities and apart from grass being walked onto the floor and the bin being half full the amenities were very presentable. As we had a full park with a lot of campers I am sure you can appreciate that these few details are inevitable over a 24 hr. period. Our toilet paper are all two roll holders, so when one role is finished there is always a spare, as this was the case when you complained.
Upon arrival you could not give us a definite time frame that you wanted to stay and initially only paid for two nights, and asked us to hold the site for a further four nights if you decided to stay. We happily obliged even if it meant you could leave early and we would of lost business from that site. If you were so unhappy with your stay and so disgusted with our park and facilities than why is it that you then decided to stay on for a further 4 nights to complete a 6 night stay with us?
We are disappointed in your inaccurate review and your attitude whilst in our park.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin - booked over the internet. The Email communication was very good and prompt and reception on arrival was very friendly and helpful. The cabin was excellent for our family with all that we needed and a high standard of cleanliness. The park is an easy stroll to the Pub and shops in Mapleton. Mapleton itself is an excellent base to explore the ranges and rainforest. I thoroughly recommend the park.

We stayed in one of the cabins here. It was clean, and they had taken care to nicely furbish. The had lots of blankets for us to use. The shower pressure was strong. It was a little dark in the unit, probably not enough windows but it did give good privacy! It was one of the best deals in the area too. There was only two issues - the roof in the toilet area leaked ever so slightly with the rain and the toaster was on the way out (it took 2 cycles on the highest setting to get non-frozen bread toasted). We left this feedback for them. By the way, I think the friendly cat we saw at the office was called Tiger, but we wished he was called Garfield (if you visit, you will see the resemblance). :)

We stayed in two unpowered sites over the busy Easter weekend. We were very happy to find that the camp sites were large and well positioned. We liked that the owners had not 'crammed' in more tents than allowable and we could freely walk around without tripping over other people. The amenties block was reasonably clean and there is a laundry room had facilities to wash clothes and dishes. We didn't use the BBQ area as it was located over in the powered tent site area. It was much appreciated that the owners took action quickly when they discovered some neighbouring teenagers decided to have a big night and become a bit noisy - this was great as we had young children trying to sleep and were considering making a complaint but were beaten to it. The cabins also looked really private and relaxing and we will definately try these next time. It was a wonderful family weekend of camping fun.

We stayed in one of the Mapleton cabins on a short visit to the Sunshine Coast hinterland. We were looking for comfortable, budget accommodation in a relaxed setting - and that's exactly what we found. The cabins were clean and had been fairly recently refurbished. The kitchen was basic, but served us well. The balconies are completely enclosed by rainforest trees which provides privacy between cabins. We stayed in winter and found the rooms warm with the aid of reverse cycle airconditioning. The owners were extremely helpful and we enjoyed our first night so much that we decided to stay an extra night - and the owners were obliging enough to offer us their 3 night special rather than simply add on an extra night tarriff. The tent sites and BBQs are located near the creek and are damp and mossie infested, so I wouldn't recommend those. But the cabins are good value.
