“Clean, comfortable & consistent”
Reviewed 9 July 2014 via mobile

We stayed here for 1 night and I wish we could have stayed longer! The two ladies working on Monday night 07/07 and Tuesday morning were fantastic. Could not fault their consistent, friendly & professional service.
The two course meal in the restaurant was really nice, quiet and relaxing.
Our tree top cabin was really nice and one of the cleanest hotel rooms I have ever seen. My partner is a hotel GM so we really notice everything in hotels.
The spa was so relaxing and all in all the rate is definatly value for money.
We also enjoyed the long winding road into the property, it felt like we were away from it all.
I couldn't recommend this place more. We will be back!

My husband, myself and my 2 teenage sons stayed here for only 1 night in a 2 bedroom chalet. Upon arrival it was very quiet and we were surprised at the number of little chalets dotted amongst the trees as we thought it was only a tiny resort.

Our chalet. named 'Daisy Dell' was very spacious with a lounge area with a TV for watching DVDs only, a kitchen with everything except a stove & oven, bathroom, bedroom with 2 king single beds.Up a very creative, what looked like a hand crafted, staircase was a lovely bedroom with a king size bed, all very cosy.

That night we left our boys in the chalet to make their own micowave dinners and watch movies, while my husband and I enjoyed a lovely dinner in the restuarant. My husbands choice of a vegetarian main was not available, which was disappointing as he didn't much fancy any others but staff did organise a meal to his liking. The service was quick and efficient and the atmosphere was intimate and peaceful.

It was certainly very quiet for a good nights sleep, although I found the bed a little hard and the gas heating too hot to leave on at night.

Breakfast was pleasant with a buffet style that included, juice, cereal, fruit salad, yoghurt, croissant, muffins and toast as well as a made to order cooked breakfast.

We all enjoyed a few of the shorter walks, as well as a 2 hour walk to the waterfalls which were brilliant in fall force. Up hill on the way there and then all down hill on the way back. Although most of which was a 4x4 track, which is not that interesting, the part through the forest was greatly interesting.

Its only about 30 mins drive to Cradle Mountain National Park.

I think this is one of Tassies best kept secret getaways, a truly peaceful location to relax and delight. We'll be back.

Recently stayed here at Lemonthyme Lodge for two nights. Our experience was very nice. We stayed in a tree top cabin which was inviting, warm and spacious. The staff were excellent and friendly, Dinner in the lodge restaurant was very nice. Overall our stay was very pleasant and relaxing. The road leading into the lodge was more than manageable. A very beautiful part of Tasmania.

We stayed at the Lemonthyme Lodge for two nights over the Queen's Birthday long weekend and we really enjoyed our stay. We booked the tree top cabin, it was nice, spacious and warm. The best thing about the Lemonthyme Lodge is that it's immersed in nature and there are lots of nice walks to do around the lodge. The staff was very nice and welcoming. A couple of things need improvement:
- The rooms have no entertainment at all, no TV nor radio. There are DVD players available for hire, but paying $190 a night you'd at least expect a TV in your room.
- We ate at the restaurant and it was quite disappointing. Very expensive and really small portions - I ordered a steak medium rare and it was overcooked. The cooked breakfast in the morning was also disappointing.

Beautiful part of the world, but why the attitude?
After booking and travelling to the Lemonthyme Lodge from Melbourne, I could not put up with the passive aggressive actions of staff and management so we left to stay elsewhere.
It all started and ended at book in. From the whispered comments to each other behind hands, the rolling of eyes, the giggling and worst of all the lack of understanding of what being in the service industry entails.
Having Gen - Y staff pretend to give service, whilst very obviously enjoying a joke at your expense is not my idea of service.
Take a good hard think before you support this Lodge. There are better options available who treat guests with respect and service.

We are disappointed with the sentiment of your review. Apart from your primary description of our staff being an oxymoron, this review is quite difficult to respond to, as your encounter with Lemonthyme Lodge apparently occurred nearly 1 year ago. We are quite surprised we have not heard about this before!!
The "Gen-Y" staff you refer to would never act as described in your review. We can assure you all of our staff, no matter what age, have a very strong understanding of respectful and courteous customer service, and continually receive nothing but generous praise from our guests.

It clearly states in your comment that you left on check-in and have stayed elsewhere, so you in fact did not avail yourself of the opportunity to experience, let alone rate our rooms, sleep quality, value etc. We have checked all the bookings in July and there was not one cancelled reservation or any notes indicating anyone being dissatisfied. We are bemused by the inconsistency of your story and to be quite honest think this review has been posted onto the wrong hotel site. We have never heard such negativity toward our staff.

We would encourage anyone reading this review to please take this response into consideration when considering a stay with us.

Had a night in one of the luxury spa suites and loved every minute. Yes there is a gravel road to drive into the resort of about 8km but this is in great order and no problems in any vehicle.

The room we stayed in was fantastic and warm from the moment we walked in the door. A great outlook and once we entered we wouldn't have known there was anybody else on the property.

The dinner we had was great and the restaurant perfectly designed for the area and the massive open fire was a highlight, I have seen comments that the meals are expensive. Based on the two courses we had for $47.50 I cannot argue with the value that was provided for this and it was equal or better than what you pay more for in major cities.

After a peaceful night enjoyed the nature walks the next morning.

Would definitely recommend to anybody.

Lemonthyme Lodge
This lodge is just gorgeous. It is 8 km down a narrow gravel winding road from the town of Moina.
Wooden cabins of various styles and sizes are available. I booked direct with hotel as I am an agent and was looking for an agent rate (rates are the same price as booking with an agent in any case).
We stayed in a 2 bedroom cabin called Sunrise. It has a car park right next to cabin and parking is free. We stayed on a Sat night in May and it was $285. This rate included a fully cooked, hot buffet breakfast. Breakfast on the Sunday morning was between 8-9:30 am. There was an eggs, bacon, sausage, tomato option or eggs benedict and then a cereal and toast and fruit buffet.
King bed upstairs, 2 singles in the second bedroom, queen sofa bed in living area. Beds do not have electric blankets (it can get very cold so not sure why not).
Gas fire in living room. Full sized kitchen, with full sized fridge and dining table and seating for 6. Tv- for DVD viewing only. Hotel reception has limited amount of DVD's for rent at $3 each.
Bathroom is a good size (toilet is not separate). Shower over bath but the bath is shallow and easy to step over. There is a heater in the bathroom which we found to be more effective to heat the room than the gas heater.
There is currently no wifi for personal devices but they do have a computer in Lobby which is free.
There is a restaurant on site. We did not eat there as we opted to have cheese and crackers in our room.
However, you can get 2 courses for $47.50 or 3 courses for $60.
There are a number of walks you can do from the lodge. You must let them
know what walk you are doing and what time you set off in the log book in reception.
They had possum and pademelon feeding at 8:30 pm.

Just a couple of things to improve:

1) we had booked for 3 and there was only 2 sets of towels when we got up to cabin. (We had to go down to reception as there was no phone to call down to get some brought up- we understand the no phone but when the room is booked for 3 people- I expect 3 sets of towels).

2) The room guide clearly states there are hot water bottles in the wardrobes. There were not and we had to walk down in the dark to get them only to be advised that they don't have any. Would expect a hotel of this calibre to make sure that the room guides are correct.

3) There was no torch to light the walk from cabin to reception in the dark.

I would recommend this hotel to clients for a 1 night stay.
