“Large beautiful park with easy access”
Review of Caulfield Park

Caulfield Park
Ranked #1 of 12 things to do in Caulfield
Attraction details
Reviewed 20 January 2013

Caulfield Park is a sprawling garden filled with sporting and recreational areas.
At the West (City) end, are found the formal gardens.
Dating from the 1800's, there are numerous mature trees.
Worth visiting are the War Memorial from the Great War and the bandstand dedicated by a former Prime Minister!!
The highlight is the lake filled with Ducks and Geese.
Take the time to sit and stare or read a newspaper over a coffee.
A milk bar is on the corner of Hawthorn Rd and Inkerman St, and the park has toilets and plenty of drinking fountains.
Access is easy with plenty of car parking and passed by three of Melbourne's tram routes.
A relaxing spot with plenty of wide open spaces close to the suburbs!!

Grew up in this area when I was very young and revisit it occasionally to see the changes.
Every suburb needs a park like this - escape from daily stresses, peace and solitude, good for walking, meeting people, children friendly - nice trees and lake.

I love this park. Hidden in the middle of suburbia, it is an urban delight. Beautiful trees, monuments, lakes - plus all the sporting facilities and fields. Lovely for a stroll, a picnic, a game of soccer or an evening run.
