Thanks to our guide; Ben, the tour was extremely informative & an amazing insight into Victoria's Gold Rush history & what life would have been like for the miners as well as the rest of the community during the late 1800's & early 1900's.
The museum is also definitely worth a look too.
Whilst there is car parking available near the mine entrance, it is only a short walk up the road from the centre of town or you could take the scenic route along the Tramline Walkway that is nestled into the side of the mountain overlooking the entire town.
You absolutely cannot visit Walhalla without taking the mine tour!

Very interesting tour conducted by Jane, the tunnel is easy walking and has lots of points of interest, the large underground man made cavern that housed 2 big boilers and the chimney dug up through the rock.

Well paced and educational tour with very good guide (Ben). Interesting insight into the life of a miner in historical Walhalla. Museum worth a look before or after the tour. Various walking options to and from the mine site. Can also park at the front door. Reasonable value.

Nice, easy walking tour, great guides. Educational and gave a feel of what life was like in the late 1800's early 1900's in the town.

A wonderful, well-informed 45mins- 1 hour inside a historic gold mine. Gives you some great insights into what it would have been like working on the mine in the 1880s etc. We took 3 small children in - 3 year old and baby struggled tour a bit too long for them (but you can always leave early and just make your own way out if you tell the tour guide what you are doing). the 5 year old loved it. Really interesting and well worth doing.
