I stayed in a non-view 'executive' suite for 2 nights on business trip and was greeted at the little reception desk by a friendly person with a smile. Third floor room was huge and clean, but as you might expect, the window had a view of the building next door. This didnt bother me as I wasn't in the room during the day. The bathroom was roomy, clean, with modern fittings. The bed was comfortable without being too soft. There was a small fridge and sink but no cooking facilities apart from kettle and tea/coffee. The TV was set way back against the far wall (on the desk) from the bed and I thought this a bit odd as you had to have the sound up more than I would normally. The desk and chair were adequate and I could plug in my computer power underneath.
There was a lift, but it was slow and it was quicker for me to go up the stairs.
Normally I would only give 3 dot rating for this standard/age of accommodation. The building itself is reasonably old but they have kept it in pretty good shape. The main reason I loved my stay here (and gave extra dot) was the position. It is right across the road from the beach and foreshore walkway. The next door dining room and bar serves nice meals and the views from the bar are awesome. The foreshore walkway goes for ever past a variety of surf clubs and foreshore facilities and if you are an early morning run/walk kind of person you wont be alone. You can hire cycles close by if you want to ride. The local area is pretty affluent!More
