My wife and I stayed in the 'hotel' part of this place as opposed to the backpackers section. Although our travel agent had booked us in for bed and breakfast we were told in no uncertain terms by the lady on reception that breakfast was not included, if we wanted to eat in the 'restaurant' part next door, an equally shabby, seemingly part finished building, we would have to pay extra. This lady had no concept of the idea of 'customer service' and was patently in the wrong job. Later while trying to get in to the bar in the backpackers building we were refused entry by the bouncer as my wife was carrying a bottle of mineral water. We explained that we were residents but this had no effect, so we walked round the corner, put the bottle in a pocket and walked in through the other door. Cottesloe itself is a long beach with very limited facilities and equally limited catering establishments, the town is not very well signposted from the beach and when you do get there, the best thing about it is the train to Fremantle.

Room Tip: Avoid the place at all costs and stay in Perth or Fremantle.

I was a bit sceptical about this hotel due to some reviews, but we have found it to be great!

Staff have been helpful, the room is clean and quite big and the bed is a little firm but not uncomfortably so.

Brilliant location for the beach, walking and restaurants.

I would stay here again!

Good ocean view. Staff arranged an early check in for us even though it was busy and fully booked. Lots of Under cover Parking free and on site. Hotel Close to cafés and right on the beach. Good air con and clean large rooms :) would definitely stay again. A++++++++++

I stayed here whilst attending a wedding nearby for convenience. I used to live in Perth and had many "sunday sessions" at the "OB" so was a bit concerned about how it would be.
I am delighted to say it was a great experience. Room was better than expected, an issue with a circuit breaker that the excellent staff fixed immediately was the only hiccup but the staffs response made it no problem at all. Surprisingly, it was a lot quieter than expected (yes, it was a sunday). The predominately surfing other guests had their little parties and music, but at a very reasonable hour everything went quiet.
Reasonably priced, right on the beach, great pub and food - you could do a lot worse than spend a few nights here.
