Nice hotel right by the beach and close to everything in Scarborough.

Incredible swimming pool area!

Also a 11.00 am check out!

Good value for money!

I chose this hotel for its great location and that did not disappoint. But everything else was average at best.
Check in: understaffed for the allocated check-in time of 2pm.
Room: I had a king size room which was a good size, but the room itself is a bit dated. The TV was a tiny old thing with very poor reception. The bathroom was in bad need of an overhaul with mould in the waterproofing around the bath. The walls must be very thin as i could hear a mum telling her kids off next door and i could hear other doors opening and closing. My room faced the main street and i could hear alot of the street noice - i was on the 14th floor.
Dining: Concierge recommended the Pines Restaurant for a buffet dinner. The service there was very poor with everything taking far too long. The food was ordinary with the only highlight being a vindaloo beef which was tender and tasty. On the up-side, it was relatively inexpensive at $35
Overall I'd recommend trying one of the other accomodation options in the area.

We recently stayed at the Rendezvous Observation City Hotel for business, and in general, we enjoyed our stay. We upgraded to the Plaza Club, and as such, we expected to receive some of the benefits associated with this (better view, access to in-room internet, etc). Our room was quite spacious, and the check-in staff were lovely. The concierge was very helpful. However, after trying unsuccessfully (and being helped by the concierge) to connect to the internet in our room, we finally discovered that our room did not actually have internet facilities. They did have a fantastic business centre, so that was fine, just a little disappointing, as that was one of the reasons we upgraded to the Plaza Club. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Just returned with my wife from an overnight Christmas Day break at the Rendevous Hotel in Perth.
Opted for a plaza club room which gives you access to the club lounge for complimentary drinks between 5.30pm - 7pm along with free parking and breakfast.
Firstly as you would expect for this time of the year this hotel was really busy and as such you would expect it to have more than ample staff to deal with the increased frequency of guests.
Arrived at reception to check in and was met with two very long queues, eventually after around 15minutes a third member of staff arrived to assist the waiting guests.
Our room was on the 24th floor with a private balcony , the view is outstanding over Scarborough beach and the long picturesque coastline.
Only thing is , there is only two small gate petitions either side of the balcony which separates you from your neighbours balcony in the rooms next door so you could easily step over this onto your neighbours balcony if you were that way inclined .
There is no safe in the rooms and bear in mind this is a plaza club room , the balcony sliding doors also have a door chain lock on them which i would suggest reflects the situation with the balconys.
The bathroom was in desperate need of refurbishment , the bath was full of chips / dents and the shower was a basic hand shower which you could not stand directly under , there is also a large step up to the bath which in my opinion is dangerous , very easy to trip on , particularly if elderly or " intoxicated ".
The Spa bath hardly looked inviting, apart from all the chips with some of the spray outlets a yellowish colour .
The sliding bathroom door also urgently needed replaced.
Swimming pool, very nice with a pool side bar , only thing was there was no bartender present for about 20 mins , when the lady eventually arrived back to a torrent of abuse from waiting guests it was clear she on her own was expected to do around 20 jobs at once , i.e serve pizza /meals etc to guests by the pool .
Eventually another bartender did arrive on the scene.
Plaza club longe would not serve cocktails as part of the complimentary drinks , because they in their own words " Were too busy " , i noted from another guest complaining they had been serving cocktails the previous night .
Our actual Christmas evening buffet meal was good , cant fault that.
Morning before breakfast decided to have a shower , but there was no hot water , i can only guess that the hot water supply could not cope with the volume of guests.
Breakfast in the morning , again very evident they were understaffed , could not cope with stocking up on the buffet food though i must emphasise the staff they did have were very nice and doing their very best despite being clearly undermanned to cope with the guest frequency.
Complained in the morning at checkout about the hot water and got a mere apology , after expressing further discontent that this should not happen in a 4 + hotel the lady knocked $22 off our bill which we had spend at the pool bar , " WOW "
I have travelled extensively and stayed at some wonderfull hotels but this place has a great deal to learn.

Have stayed in the Rendezvous in Singapore which was excellent and expected the same of the Perth hotel. We were sorely disappointed. The hotel really needs to be upgraded, the hallways are cold, the rooms are outdated and there is little or no character in the lobby. The shower was poor and very limited cosmetics were offered. Staff were fine but nothing exceptional. There is no way this hotel is a 4 star as it claims to be. It was far too expensive for what it offers. Very disappointing overall

Upon check in we were upgraded to a sea view room, which was lovely it was spotless, all the amenities were great. The bathroom is a little small and does need to be refurbished but it was spotlessly clean. We had a wonderful view, the staff were excellent. Breakfast was okay but I wouldn't eat here if it is not part of your room package.
A lovely suprise all around : )

Recently I attended a function & the food & service was excellent. The bonus was the sunset & ocean views. This hotel has been in deciline for a number of years but with a new management team, is experiencing a change back to the good old days. My understanding is that refurbishment is taking place including hopefully an external paint. As a local I look forward to revisiting & using the facilities now that it is moving in a positive direction. Chas
