We stayed here fr a week after moving out of a disgusting place nearer to the airport. In comparison it was a palace but still in need of a major overhaul. The rooms were dark and dingy but clean and with room for suitcases. Not a lot of wardrobe or drawer space if staying more than a couple of nights and the bathroom was nothing fancy, although it was adequate (apart from the dripping tap). The room we had was on the 5th floor so we had no noise from the bar but we did have an incident of our door handle being rattled on 2 separate nights. When we reported this we were told that the security cameras hadn't picked anything up as it was too far away from our door. The free WiFi turned out to be free only in the bar or the reception, which is not brilliant. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. All in all, i twas reasonable value for money but it would be nice to see the owners giving it some TLC to bring it back to it's former glory.

Read the other reviews before I booked and ignored them. Glad I did!
Sure the building is old but my room was very comfortable and well equipped. Bed new, shower hot with plenty of water, TV large flat screen. Room very quiet and very clean.
I phoned directly to book my room because I wanted a ground floor room. This was the right thing to do as I got a discount!
Apparently if you book by phone you can sometimes get a discount on standard rooms.

PS the building next door is finished.

Room Tip: North side rooms are larger.

I stayed at this place for 3 nights. It probably would have been better to not stay here at all. It is located very close to Scarborough Beach which is one of very few good things to point out, about this hotel. This point alone is a good one for those like myself, that wanted to be close to the beach within walking distance. The location is close to a petrol station, a few restaurants (pizza, italian, hamburgers etc), shops and Coles.
The pool was also good but overlooks people that are almost intoxicated at the Indi Bar, directly next to it. It was good to swim at the pool, but having people stare at you while they are drinking (mostly) and eating wasn't exactly comfortable. There was old clutter all over the pool area and the chairs looked like they had not been cleaned for a long time. Despite this, I still jumped in a few times.

The hotel rooms are out dated. Paintings in frames on the wall look like they are about to fade. The lift is old and there was nothing in the fridge. My view was of the building site next door and those workers there are not exactly quiet at all. The shower and bathroom is very old and there is mould on tiles, rust on sink and bath holes.

I know that they warn you about the noise at the Indi Bar but to be honest, staying on the 2nd floor we did not hear anything at all.

The basic continental breakfast which starts at 7am; includes breakfast cereal, a few pieces of fruit, bread (white, wholemeal, raisin), juices (orange, apple), water, milk.

One thing I did not like was the $100 deposit required in case of incidentals - loss of key, damage to the room. The rooms were falling apart anyway and I found this $100 refundable fee outrageous.

The staff here don't know much at all - One didn't know where the towels were, to use at the pool. Overall, not very friendly feel at all.

Next time, I will stay at the Rendevous.

Room Tip: One at the top that gives you a view of the ocean and not the ugly building site next door.

According to "2014 Your Guide to Western Australia" booklet, it looked good, but the reality is far from it. Run down hotel, my room door did not lock properly, the reception forgot our wake up call, in fact, the guy was asleep when we checked out. Thank God, we had 2nd alarm clock for back up.

Most of the guests looked like tradesmen, not for tourists. We stayed here due we wanted to be in Scarborough, but should have gone to other beach area.

As stated in previous posts this hotel has seen better days, however for the price and location so close to the beach I love this hotel. Within easy walking distance to the shops and restaurants. I have been coming here for years and feel so lucky they are here at all and not shut down.

A very disappointing, tired hotel. The rooms were dark and the pool area cramped - it didn't have a good 'feel' about it. The only good points were that is did have a pool, the cost was reasonable and it was a short walk to the beach.

Room Tip: Only consider this hotel if you are on a strict budget and you really want a swimming pool.

Booked this hotel to finish off 2 perfect weeks in oz. and was soooo disappointed. Tired dark rooms, noisey, next to a building site, the crows start at daybreak, and tired to charge us 10 dollars to go into the resturaunt because there was a singer on. No seperate entrance for guests. Breakfest left alot lacking, deffo not continental. Kept up till midnight with forsaid singer , then a screaming child till 2am. Avoid at all costs if you want a decent nights sleep.
