If you are looking for somewhere quiet, pretty and comfortable to spend the weekend, this could well be it. Hosts are very welcoming. Within walking distance of the town for restaurants etc.

The only minor thing they could do is make it clearer where you are supposed to go on arrival.

Room Tip: I am guessing that the room off the lounge could be a bit noisy if people watching TV late at night.

We arrived on a cold and wet day to a warm welcome in more ways than one, with a greeting from the hosts and a log fire. Six o'clock is wine time and web were provided with wine and nibbles while we chatted with our hosts and other guests.
The bedroom was on the small side but cosy, they even provided electric blankets.
John produced first rate breakfasts and advised us how to make the best use of our short stay. John really could not do enough for us and even offered to drive us to a local restaurant. On top of all this the price was very reasonable, which always helps.

Room Tip: The rooms at the front looked sunnier

John and Sandra are fabulous hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our one night stay as we were made to feel so welcome and the house is a glorious restoration. John even left us chocolates for when we got back from the cinema!

John & Sandra have lovingly restored this old building to a high standard with a period feel. Whilst our room would have benefited from drawers or shelves and more hanging space it was comfortable and pleasant to be in.
The evening get together with drinks and home made nibbles was always enjoyable with John & Sandra as gracious and genial hosts. John was extremely helpful in suggesting places to visit and in giving us detailed instructions/directions to enable us to return our car at Wellington.
He also provided excellent breakfasts and we would not hesitate to stay with them again. We arrived as guests and left as friends.

Stayed at the Old Manse following 2 recommendations and we were not disappointed.
The Old Manse was delightful, accommodation boutique in style, spotlessly clean.
Sandra and John made our visit.
Great hosts, we were made to feel very welcome. John makes a delicious breakfast and perfect poached eggs! Whilst Sandra hosts evening gatherings over Canapes and wine at 6 pm - she is the perfect hostess.
We booked for one night and stayed for 4 such was our enjoyment at the Old Manse.
Touring the vineyards on bikes was huge fun, thanks to one of John's recommendations and use of his bike!
We arrived as strangers and left as friends.
Thank you both so much.
Would we recommend the Old Manse - most certainly!
