“Worth a visit”
Reviewed 22 October 2013

On our first evening in Martinborough, Tirohana Estate's restaurant was the perfect escape from the cold and wet weather. It was wonderful to walk into the restaurant to be greeted with friendly service and a crackling fire. Great ambiance, attentive service and hearty food made for an enjoyable and memorable evening. As I can't get back anytime soon I'll be trying to get hold of recipes for some of the food we had at Tirohana!

“Highly Recommend for an Excellent Night Out”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

Delicious food, excellent wine list & a lovely location but best of all was the incredibly friendly service. A family run business that really does live the ideal of treating you like one of their own. I came for dinner here as part of a weekend away with (girl)friends, but would equally see this as being an excellent place for couples or smaller groups. Will be back myself the next time I'm in Martinborough and would recommend to anyone else in the area to do the same.

“Belated review!!”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

Due to being overseas a lot this year it has taken a wee while to get this review done so apologies. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant .Toby is the perfect host. We had a lovely birthday lunch there ( only & a very minor negative was that the birthday - even though was mentioned at the booking time was not mentioned at any time & this is often a nice gesture , with maybe a complimentary chocolate or glass of wine !) & we enjoyed our lunch so much that we booked their charming wee cottage & returned for their fixed price dinner a couple of nights later. The $59 menu is extremely good value & offers a choice of 5-6 entrees & similar choice of mains. The French Onion soup was divine & the main of pork shoulder was deliciously tender & a real standout as was the dessert choice of a Spiced Pumpkin Bread & Butter pudding with caramel sauce . We also enjoyed a very nice Amuse Bouche & finished with Petit Fours. The setting is very pleasant in the vineyard & with a great fire going it makes for a nice romantic evening. For ambience & value for money it is hard to beat

“The perfect dinning experience”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

To dine here is the full package.

The ambiances, the food, the entertainment value of the host Toby make for a wonderful evening.

I have to say that you would be hard pushed to beat this dining experience.

Located in a pleasant vineyard the restaurant has been meticulously maintained. The food and wine is so beautifully explained and described that expectations are raised to the quality of the food; your expectations regardless are exceeded.

A MUST visit.

“Outstanding!”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

My husband and I had a dinner deal arranged at Tirohana Estate by Claremont Motel as part of a weekend package deal. What a wonderful treat. We were driven there and back, were greeted at the door with a lovely spritzer then thoroughly enjoyed a 5 course meal. We were seated in a private corner of the restaurant and were very well looked after and entertained by Toby and the lovely waitress. The pink lamb and beef were outstanding. Hopefully we'll be back to enjoy the vines and piazza setting during the summer one day. Wished we lived closer!
