“Lovely place to stay :)”
Reviewed 12 May 2013 via mobile

Very clean & lovely cedar spa on front deck. Was a cold night & there was a lovely fireplace (gas) & oil heater in case it got too cold. Full mini bar & antipodes (my fave) sparkling water in the fridge too. Recommend staying here ;)

Very well appointed and secluded rooms. Very comfortable and close to everything in Martinborough ( although its only a small place). We had a wonderful meal in the restaurant. Only compliant, in place that offers a quality experience why would the bed sheets be polyester and the towels on the small side

My husband and I spent two nights here after our wedding - in one of the Secluded Cottages.

Location is fantastic - you are right in the middle of beautiful wine country, with a dozen or so wineries within walking distance (if you want to make a day of it) or cycling distance.

The cottage was beautifully presented with generous living, sleeping, relaxing and kitchen areas. Our favourite part was the private hot tub on our terrace that overlooked the man-made lake (very pretty).

Breakfast was included, and there was a lovely spread of continental options, as well as hot cooked option.

My only grizzle is that Peppers didn't do anything special to make us feel welcome. As newly-weds staying in one of NZ's premier wine towns I would have expected maybe a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival or at least a 'congratulations' rather than the 'oh yeah, you're just married right?' greeting we were given.

Also, bikes were not included in the room rate. When you're paying over $400 a night this is something I think should be included as part of the service. When we've stayed in similar wine regions in other countries, eg, Tuscany bikes were included.

We enjoyed our stay here, but will probably try somewhere different next time we are home in New Zealand.

My wife and I spent 2 nights in a Secluded Cottage recently to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We'd highly recommend it for a romantic break. The rooms are quite luxurious and beautifully appointed. The outdoor hot tub on the private verandah was fantastic. The Classic Wines of NZ guide in the room was a nice touch. The complimentary breakfasts (esp. the cooked-to-order options) were excellent.

The only minor gripe is the fact that there was no minibar price list in the room - we incorrectly assumed that the half-bottle of Pinot in the room when we arrived (separate from all of the other drinks) was complimentary (this is quite common in wine region accommodation in Australia).

Kia Ora,

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review on our property, the staff are very happy to hear you had a fantastic stay on your romantic break.

We do apologise that there was no mini bar list in your room, unfortuantely it looks to have been misplaced, however it is now back in the room.

We look very forward to seeing you again in the near future.

The winemakers cottage nestled in the attractive landscaped grounds of Peppers resort is the perfect place to stay while you experience the delights of Martinborough and its award winning wines.
We grabbed a bike (with useful basket in front) and spent the day exploring the many delightful adjoining vineyards and wineries. Back to the swimming pool and tennis court to work off the wine tasting and create an appetitie for dinner.
Our cottage was beautiful, spacious and elegantly furnished. We didn't have time to use the fully equipped kitchen but noted how useful that would be for a longer stay. It was too warm for the open fire but it would have been so welcome on an autumn or winter visit.
Dinner at the Pavilion was very good and breakfast (included) even better. The fresh fruit was outstanding.

Stayed here for a special weekend away. Fantastic rooms with separate kitchen and lounge area. Our room had a great private terrace overlooking the country side. Great spot to enjoy a romantic bottle of wine. Handy to all the wineries. staff very friendly. Resort very private and quite.

drove to martinbourgh for a break away to celebrate our 25th anniversary.stayed in peppers parehua in a villa which is in the heart of the winery country.loved the villa with its balcony, and its cosy gas fire that looks like its real.great breakfast with plenty of selection.I would go back again. probably the only down side is the air- blast all through the day to scare away birds off the vines.but we were out most days and they don't have it going off at night.
