“Cosy Colonial Style Retreat - A Must in Greytown”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2014

We loved staying at The Saddlery. Can't say enough about how splendid this homestay is. A short 2min walking distance to all the gorgeous Greytown shops and restaurants. We enjoyed the traditional German breakfast which we recommend. That was all after a great afternoon enjoying the relaxing flower gardens and an evening of sound sleep. But watch out for those cheeky native birds in the plum tree, they bombed our breakfast table with a couple of plums! It was both funny and delightful. Overall AAA+ the best bed & breakfast honestay ever,

Room Tip: There are 3 rooms. We stayed in the spacious Garden View room but they are all exquisite with ensuit...

We stayed at The Saddlery over the long weekend. It was the first time we'd taken our baby away so we were very much looking forward to a break together. We had such a lovely time. Sandra and Steve made us feel so welcome and are such a lovely couple. The house was absolutely lovely, beautifully refurbished and so much thought had been put into all the little details - lovely products in the shower, gorgeous fresh flowers and even homemade candles! We had both the continental breakfast and the traditional German breakfast and the food was fantastic. The fact that a lot of it was also homemade made it that bit more special. We would totally recommend The Saddlery and will look forward to returning.

We stayed at The Saddlery last Saturday night and had an amazing time. From the moment we arrived we knew we were in good hands: the hosts, Sandra and Steve, were genuinely kind and hospitable and made us feel welcome in their home. The house is simply amazing, beautifully decorated and furnished – each room has a different theme. We stayed in the ‘Garden View’ room, a spacious and luxurious room with the softest bed I’ve ever slept on :) Cute Christmas décor was also on show in the house, bringing some Christmas cheer to our evening there. Breakfast was plentiful, I highly recommend the home-made jams, don’t leave without trying those! :)
Happy to recommend this place to anyone looking for a Greytown or Wairarapa getaway or who simply wants to sit back and relax in a beautiful garden while enjoying great hospitality. We will definitely be back!

I had a fantastic time with my family during our stay at the Saddlery B&B in Greytown. Our 5 year old daughter loved the big garden with the amazing variety of flowers. We stayed in the upper rooms and enjoyed it very much. The hosts Sandra and Steve were so welcoming and made our stay to a real home away from home. We all loved it and hope to come back soon!

An excellent time away. Very hospitable couple running the Saddlery, we felt very welcome. The cleanest place I have ever stayed in! The continental breakfast exceeded our expectations. fresh fruit, fresh juice, cereal, toast, locally made preserves, plunger coffee. A fantastic start to the day!

I visited the Saddlery with my partner a few weeks ago. The house is really wonderful, with modern fittings that match the mood and theme of the house. The gardens are large and beautiful. We stayed in the downstairs room with large ensuit, incl bath...it was really special. The hosts were welcoming but unobstrusive, and put on a wonderful German breakfast for us. Only a few minutes walk from the centre of the town as well. Highly recommended!!

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Steve and Sandra are wonderful hosts, and the house is warm and welcoming. Everything is clean and tidy, and the décor and furnishings are tasteful. My partner and I stayed in the room called 'The Shop', which was lovely - the bed was a good size and super comfortable, and there was plenty of storage room for our belongings. The adjoining bathroom was spacious and the claw foot bathtub was a great addition to the room - the perfect place to sit and relax with a glass of wine and a book! The grounds themselves were also beautiful, flowers everywhere, and there were lots of cute little spots to sit out in the garden and enjoy the sun.

I would recommend The Saddlery to anyone looking for accommodation in Greytown. It's the prefect little getaway, especially if you're escaping the big, fast-paced city!
