“A GREAT way to spend the day!”

It was relaxing and exciting depending on what you wanted to do! the sailing to the island was relaxing but the captain was a character and was fun to talk to! The island was both beautiful and relaxing but if hiking, kayaking, or swimming fancies you then theres an adventure out there!
Also the sandwich and drink given on the island was DELICIOUS!

“Nice Day Sailing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 May 2014

We took this tour from a cruise ship in April while visiting the Bay of Islands in New Zealand.

When we got on the boat, I was impressed that Dave gave us a safety talk before we sailed. He then had one of the other passengers who had never sailed before, use the wheel to sail the ship. This passenger really enjoyed this. He also let anyone who wanted to help crew help with the sails, and we all really enjoyed this. The scenery was beautiful and we got to see dolphins swimming on the way back to the dock which was really exciting.

We sailed to an island where we had a picnic and some of us went swimming, kayaking or snorkeling. I thought that the water was too cool to swim in at this time of the year, but several people did go swimming.

There was also no place for us to sit and many of us were seniors. A number of the women sat on a piece of driftwood at the side of water. This is why I rated the day as very good, instead of excellent. This problem could easily be solved by having some light cheap fold-up chairs that could be taken to the island.

We had a picnic consisting of sandwiches, fruit and cookies. For the picnic there were no chairs or tables so we either had to stand or sit on the ground.

The island also had a nice pathway that lead to a nice photo opportunity on top of the hill overlooking the island.

Overall I enjoyed the day and would recommend it to my friends.

“Relaxing, scenic and fun for all.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2014

This tour and guide Dave, were excellent. We met at the dock had a quick introduction to our day and a safety chat and then off we sailed. Those of us that wanted to try our hand at sailing whether it was to steer or help with the rigging were encouraged and others who wanted to just sit and enjoy the sailing did so. Some of us cast for fish, spent time kayaking, lazing on a beach, hiking a trail or snorkeling. All of our wishes were accommodated and our guide’s knowledge of the islands and history was a pleasure in itself. Time spent watching for dolphins and enjoying their close proximity was a special highlight for me as were the bird calls on the island on which we spent time. The island we visisted had short hiking trails and beautiful beach, rock formations and peaceful scenery. Sailing to and from our departure point around several islands was beautiful, the scenery spectacular and the lunch and refreshment provided as a picnic for the beach was part of a super relaxing fun day.

“Very average”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 April 2014

Day was okay but nothing to write home about. Perhaps it is living off past glories. The snorkelling equipment was mostly broken and needs urgently updating. Lunch was a sandwich and cookie.

By far the biggest crumble was the boat was way overcrowded with 16 people. This isn't a cheap day out and they need to cut the numbers to 12 maximum!

On a positive slant the Skipper (Dave) was very pleasant and knowledgeable.

“Superb Day out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 April 2014

We went on this trip with our daughter and her partner and all really enjoyed the day. Plenty of opportunity to sail the boat if you wanted ( a great boat to try out in a good wind) or just relax . There is plenty of space on deck for chillaxing. The island we stopped at for lunch was good for snorkelling and the kayaks provided were very easy to use. The view from the top was also worth the walk. Glen is a very hospitable host and drums up a very nice lunch. The numbers on the boat was just about right and enabled everyone to get to know a bit about each other.
